  2. The Inevitable Teaspoons, Wednesday 11th February 2026, our own rehearsal room in rural NE Scotland. I don't generally have breakfast, sorry and Wednesday was no exception. A wee photo of my work area, even though I wasn't doing any actual recording on Wednesday - we like to warm up by playing a few songs before recording anything. More work on our next album, working on a track called "Lovely Night Out In The Country" Recording using a Zoom R24 and an AKG dynamic mic of some sort (because we're so professional and taking it so seriously). Got the drums, keys and bass down already, in this session got sax, trombone, lead vox and two lots of backing vox down. Despite some hijinks (the apogee of which was the keyboard player pinging a rubber band at the sax player as I was away to hit record for the trombone player recording some BVs), I think we got through a decent amount of stuff. Just got harmonica and any other incidental stuff we feel like to do, then that's another track in the bank.
  3. Thanks!😀 They're certainly not cheap, however, there are stores in the U.S. with inventory and are willing to deal. Let me know if you have any questions or need any help.😉
  4. I still prefer my indentured potato farmer Britpop casualty story.
  5. Ed sold me a gig bag for my acoustic bass for a great price including fast delivery. Highly recommended Basschatter. Thank you Ed.
  6. Thanks!😀 I hope your bucket runneth over soon!
  7. I looked at the seller's profile; a 'proper' gigging bassist who has sold some very tasty gear in the last couple of years! They knew what they were selling but possibly misjudged the value... well it sold in under 1 hour and the description actually said that they'd take £800 for it but no less... as if! LOL
  8. Just like I said, in the real world you can still pick up a decent used Stingray for under a grand if you are patient and keep an eye out. Some poor soul in Lincolnshire who thirty years ago fantasised of breaking free from a life of servitude on the local potato farm and playing bass for Oasis has just sold the last vestiges of his youthful dreams for £850, and is probably glad with that sum.
  9. My tastes regarding Stingrays are always the blue, honey or cherry burst that harked back to the ebmm relaunch of the Stingray that hit UK music shops in about '87. Those early EB basses had very figured maple necks...as a skint teenage bassist I was very impressed! Regardless of the merits of pre EB and more recent Rays, my tastes are fixed. The bass above appeals to me for those reasons....obviously its got mid '90s changes but it's in that mould.
  10. Yes, by all means. If they work and they're playable, go for it!
  11. a great bass head Let me know if you decide to part with the hdn112 cab my man
  12. Thanks Ash, good info. I haven't given it much of a chance with the Precision incoming. If it doesn't sell its not a disaster and I'll revisit at some point!
  13. The neck specs are: 34” scale neck 38mm (1 5/8”) nut weight is 3.9kg (8.6lbs) cheers
  14. Dave and the team are great. I had a wide boy 500 head that I stood on it`s end after a gig in the Hard Rock Cafe in Glasgow, I turned my back and heard a thump and down it went. Gubbed. Spoke to Dave and I sent it down to them, they repaired it and sent it back via TNT and wouldn`t take any kind of payment so sent them some sweeties. I would still use an ABM of some description but having to lug about the band pa means I have a Rumble 800 but Ashdown`s service is second to none.
  15. We've spoken! Collection only for time being 😭
  16. Agreed! This was especially impressive at the time because so many of these bands and artists were constantly getting radio airplay at the time. Believe me, we significantly increased the number of American bands to add to the list shortly afterward.😉
  17. I am regularly using dirt, compression and EQ
  18. That is pretty cheap for a 95! Having said that, the 95 that I had, sported a 'transition' bridge (or that's what I was told), i.e. the bigger, original style bridge, but without the damper felts. Also, the battery cover for my 95 had a metal battery cover, rather than the plastic battery box.
  19. It's just the way things are going my friend. You can subscribe to a HP laptop now. I've been a Linux user since 2007 and there always an alternative. If anything foss has got better as companies have got more greedy because more people are seeking alternatives. I can't pretend to be a recoding expert but when I have done it I've only ever used Ardour and free (price) software plugins. The results have been good enough, and it certainly wasn't the software that was holding me back it was talent.
  20. I like how the website allows you to select a quantity. Dangerous when drunk online shopping. You could end up with 12 of the bastards and no house.
  21. Fabulous cabs - super-light and a really effective all-rounder
