  2. BEST BUY I would also like to add these to my best buy list. I started a thread - The Flats are off. Stating i have moved away from my Deep talking La Bella set on my CS 62 Precision. Well I have now traded it for the Bass above, but now discovered La Bella low tension flats, a completely different feel and lovely tone and guess what, they are now on all my basses. crazy world ain't it.
  3. I yacht the sheriff - E. C.
  4. Lots of love for Mike Lulls instruments. If I was in the market for a new FENDER Jazz bass... I'd buy a Lull. https://www.mikelull.com/ Nice used example in the UK: https://reverb.com/uk/item/93535040-mike-lull-v4-2014-two-tone-sunburst?bk=
  5. If buying new I think I`d be looking at the Mod Shop, as the range of choices are pretty good.
  6. Yes agreed, but the right degree of finishing (I went fine but not too fin with the sandpaper), and the right oil and wax and even a linear and relatively low contrast grain can look good, I'm about to do the same to this walnut body, although as you can see, I've been slightly more fortunate with the grain.....
  7. Hi all… here are some specs. The original listing is still on the Bass Gallery site: Nut Width: 48mm String Spacing: 18.5mm Scale Length: 34" Weight: 4kg Originally sold for £2600 so a bargain to be had here.
  8. Ours will be better 😉
  9. Having sanded a similarly finished bass - and regretted both the time and the results - I'd recommend a stripper, it will take a few coats and some elbow grease, but it will be a whole lot less hassle and will significantly reduce the risk of over-sanding
  10. it doesn't bother me at all, weird isn't it. I've got two Adam Clayton basses (for my U2 tribute) a Slash Les Paul, JMJ mustang and recently added a John Taylor Dingwall to the arsenal. But the Adam Clayton jazz bass looks lovely
  11. Mud had a 'MUD ON ROAD' sign on Top.ofthe Pops once. Funny that I remember that after about half a century!
  12. Those would all benefit from a tort scratchplate. 😁
  13. Hard to give a rational reason but it puts me off too... Not an issue with Adam Clayton, I like the bass but I'd want it to look more 'vintage' - like the Flea that just has an engraving on the neck plate.
  14. Just for clarity … AI as in artificial intelligence, or Al as in short for Al Krow? On my phone a uppercase i and lowercase L are the same. I mean if Al Krow did come steal my job, it would be, to quote him , a game changer’
  15. I’d have my fender elite over any of those , I suppose we all like different things 🙂
  16. I'm reminded of the old Arion effects that were all 'stereo'. Fine for the Chorus, but a stereo compressor? As far as I could see it split the signal into wet and dry channels. Wish I still had it, I used that pedal live for years. It was probably crap... But the point is the three easiest ways to make a mono source stereo: Use the pan control to position it on the sound stage. Use a true stereo effect to split it into two close but different signals in each channel. Use two microphones (or di and one mic) to record so one is close up and one is 'roomy' with more ambience.
  17. With this circuit, centre position on the blend control means both pickups are connected direct to the master volume and tone controls, so that would be equivalent to both volumes maxed in a VVT setup as you say, needed to reject RF interference. Neck full / bridge 20% should also be achievable.
  18. Reduced to £325. This is more than worth it for the fuzz and filter circuits alone before all the bells and whistles!
  19. what's the problem with the signature on the headstock?
  20. Lovely stuff! Reminds me of the old Viz Mud on Road, Sweet Trolley, The Pips single frame groaners.
  21. Sorry, but I forgot all about Fender when I discovered they weren't the only company making jazz basses.. I went with this and it puts to shame everything Fender's making. I definitely want another one.
  22. big muff 2 is here
  23. Blend means you can't get either of the classic 'hollow' both pups on full sound, or my usual neck full on, bridge ~20% sound. It's interesting, I often gig a p-bass and rarely back it's tone off, butwhen gigging a Jazz I often tweak the settings. Being able to set both pups full when stuck under an electrically noisy light fitting is gold too.
  24. Dear agedhorse, Dan, tauzero and nekomatic, Thanks for your responses. This is what happend so far: I rang the Eich-office. This is what they told me: A few years ago, Neutrik has changed the design of some of their connectors/plugs and therefor the problems that I'm having in my cabs, are somewhat well known to Eich (and they are really pissed about this!). Therefor Eich offered to send me complete new back plates of the cabs (for free!) so that these bad connections belong to the past (for me). I find that very generous of Eich. As soon as I have changed the plates, I will notify you all on the outcome. For now; thanks for your involvement!
  25. We have 50 in stock and they FLEW out the doors... More coming in the new year! This must be the product of the decade (or longer) for MXR Merry Christmas everyone!
