ped Posted October 25, 2009 Author Share Posted October 25, 2009 Quick update: I have not fitted the Roland GK unit into the bass itself, which is much neater than having the 'brain' clamped to the body. Here are the pics - this bass is now literally the best thing ever and although I was pretty scared about cutting some holes into it for the new outputs (on the side of the body) I feel that we are now closer than ever! ped Posted October 25, 2009 Author Share Posted October 25, 2009 Thanks mate yeah it really is just right now - what always bothered me about the previous solution (having the 'brain' clamped to the back of the bass) was that it meant the bass wouldn't fit into its original semi soft zipcase. But I'll never lose it!!! ped Oh and I always play in D - I like the lower tension and the extra notes. I also find it more comfortable octave shape wise. With my pathetically light womanly touch on the strings it also means that the lower tension responds to variations in touch more than a higher tension string. ped Posted June 28, 2012 Author Share Posted June 28, 2012 I'm trying Rotosound Nexus strings on the Vigier, they look amazing and feel nice but quite different to the Elixirs I'm used to. Time will tell how they fare because a set of Elixirs stay bright for over a year for me which is nice. This is still very much my main bass and I can't see it ever losing top spot. There's two small push buttons to facilitate this which will go in between the stacked bass/treble and magnetic pickup pan. [/quote] I love Dymo labels!! Yeah it's hard to put them in line with any other knobs because nothing lines up but they look quite neat like this and are in a nice position for adjusting in the fly. I've got two mini knobs to use that match the existing ones.
