Cheap Tuner pedal

One of my housemates is getting back into playing guitar and needs a cheap tuner pedal, he likes my Korg but can't shell out the money for one, he has about £30 tops

I've been looking at eBay and there's a couple on there:

The Rockburn one is made by Belcat who seem to make sturdy pedals, the other one looks decent enough, both have mute and true bypass and are metal rather than plastic.

Has anybody got any experience of these? Obviously it's a false economy if they are rubbish but if they work then great.
Alternatively anybody got any other suggestions for a cheapy tuner pedal? No Behringer please!

If you can find a Behringer one then i couldn't recommend it enough! i have used mine in the studio and live for about 6 months now, bought out of absolute necessity but it has now found a permanent place.

Does it need to be a pedal? You can pick up a hand held tuner for £10-15.

Our old guitarist had a couple of Behringer pedals, the tuner was the first to pack up closely followed by the others!
I think he only got one or two gigs out of it and it failed mid-gig, i know some people use Behringer stuff with no problems but they have a shocking reputation for a reason, i'd feel pretty bad if i reccommended it to a mate and it stopped working.

For the same price you can get something that looks much better, the two in the links above have metal cases, just wondering what the guts are like. I know Belcat's other pedals are supposed to be decent

Yeah it's for when we get gigging, he'll need a mute function and something that's easy to see. We've got some normal tuners knocking about around the house but he wants a pedal one after using my Korg

If that's the one I have now yeah it's a good pedal but I don't really need it any more.

He can have it for what I paid Oli for it which was £19 if I remember rightly?

Fender do quite a cheap one, I used one for about 3 years as did my brother. Survived gig after gig.

I second the behringer chromatic tuner. For most pedals I'd say splash out on something a bit more durable but I really like the behringer chromatic tuner, digital delay (much glitchier than the boss pedal it's based on, probably an unintentional side-effect of it being a cheap copy) and the midi foot controller

What Korg?

I've got a Joyo JT305 Korg-a-like...

Mute, 9v Out, LED tune options, proper bullet proof... so good infact i got a Guitar Man GM305, same Korg-a-like for my Son. Both were about £15 posted on the bay.

The best cheap tuner available atm is a used Korg Pitchblack.
 

They go for as little as £25 on the 2nd hand market, they’re very reliable and well built, good clear and bright display with multiple display modes, and detection accuracy within ± 1 cent (same spec as the most expensive top-end pedal tuners). 
 

It’s one of the most undervalued pedals doing the rounds at present. I just sold one for a paltry £30.

 

The only reason I sold it (after a decade of reliable use) was to get the new Pitchblack with the switchable buffer.

 

In terms of specification, functionality, and overall quality, I see this as the best tuner option for anyone on a budget.
