If you ever get the chance to try it have a Jura Duerachs Own 16yr old. Now very rare to find. So easy to drink.

Nice bass tone. Is that just backline or PA too ?

Dave

I’ll give it a search Dave….i always like a single malt to wind down after a gig. Personal fave is the MacAllan - why did it get so expensive.

Just a smallish club Dave so this is just backline; MB little Marcus 500 with 2 x NY121. The Ray can take a bit of taming but it was ok in this room.

My band played one of our two annual freebie gigs at the Globe in Somerton. We do these in return for them letting us use their functions room whenever we need to rehearse. Last night we were in the main pub area and as usual it got pleasantly crowded. Although all 4 of us are gig-hardened, the band is relatively new and it was good to feel that our improvement trend continues. The steps are small now but still satisfying.

And at least they have a big car park round the back!

Me and the singer (it's a duo with backing tracks) turned up to the venue, a pub in Kent, on Friday night... and they had no idea we were playing.

We had been booked through an agent. The agent hadn't been told that the manager of the pub had left recently. The new manager had never heard of the agent.

They were apologetic, but no hard feelings as it wasn't their fault. They're going to book us in another date in the future.

So we had a curry instead and then home for an unexpected early night!

We arrived at our gig in Ulverston last night to discover that we hadn't brought microphones, mic leads or mic stands! We borrowed one off the pub, another from an audience member who lived around the corner, and another off a mate of mine who was playing in a different pub 10 minutes walk away (a Shure Beta 58 too). Tiny pub, cramped performance space, absolutely rammed with people, couldn't move for bodies. Great gig in the end, but I wished I'd taken a bigger bass cab despite the tiny space we were playing in.

I wish! No, that's the Unicorn. The Globe's car park is tiny and parking outside the front is a lottery. Luckily the Unicorn is a couple of minutes' walk so we park there after we've offloaded on the road outside the Globe.

Ah yes, my bad, we have only played the unicorn!

I have a checklist to make sure i never forget anything.

I started it because i forgot my Glam Rock boots at one of our earlier gigs and had to wear black trainers but it did feel weird not wearing them 🤩

Glad it turned out ok in the end tho and that's the main thing.

I'm looking forward to this Saturday.  I'll get a chance to hang out with a bunch of our local musicians.  I'm glad we're going on first. It's a beautiful room on the marina in Port Washington.

Wasn't feeling the gig. I made the mistake of not eating anything before the gig. This was a multi band gig. We played from 5:00-6:00.

Well attended ticketed event , $35.00. Part of the problem was the room . Huge room on the marina ( Lake Michigan)with extremely high ceiling and lots of glass. Great lighting with smoke but the stage sound was not good. The amp provided was SWR cabs a 15" and a 4 10s. I stood right in front of the rig and couldn't hear a thing. Not much coming from my monitor either.

Our band leader/ front person stayed engaged and positive with the crowd.

That reminds me of a gig I did a few months ago. Tribute band on a decent large stage outside in a park somewhere in West London I think. For some reason, we'd not loaded the drummer's stool/throne into van. When we looked in the band dressing room/marquee, the band the night before had accidentally left behind a single piece of equipment... which happened to be a drum stool. Very weird coincidence, but one that we were grateful for!

Just had our 29th Nov cancelled (rescheduled to next year) because the landlord is putting a large Christmas tree up on the very small stage before the end of the month.

One of those situations you cant make up 😂

Is that Crossroads by Cream Daryl ?

Seems like a big bass rig for the size of room but i would love to play thru an SWR rig like that but i know what you mean standing in front of it. I cant hear my Mesa rig too well when standing directly in front of it. Sounds amazing 6-10ft in front tho.

My Barefaced 212 cab is completely different and i can hear that quite easily standing in front or even to the side.

Sounding great once again Daryl. Great balance between you all and bass sounds perfect. Deep with a nice click top end.

Band is sounding hi-end. Exceptional playing. Love it.

Thanks Dave,

I just wish we we were a little more consistent at that level.

The clip is from one of those shows where everything just fell into place from the word " go ".

I think we draw some things from Creams live version. It's never the same twice.

It certainly did fall into place in that clip Daryl, sounded really good.

Thanks Lozz,

It was really sort of an open jam. I think it was pretty new to us at that time.

If you notice at the end of the song when our guitarist went back to the intro riff I thought we were going to get lost. That's why I walked over and started that " rave up " to close the song.

I'm not sure if you can open this. If you can at one point I go into a fill that I didn't didn't land so great.
