Ask yourselves a simple question... how far would any of this sh*t have got on Talkbass.com? You think it's overly-PC here, that people jump at nothing and have no, ahem, 'sense of humour' here? Try a MILF thread over there and see what happens.
Nothing wrong with your sense of humour mate (or Sarah’s or Rich’s), it’s just that there are too many here who are just too PC for words. How they ever manage to hack it in a band, I have no idea!

I think that you have to accept Basschat for what it is – a great place to find & sell gear or to get info and technical advice (if you can distinguish between those who know what they’re talking about and those who really don’t), but not necessarily a great place for debate or what you’ve come to recognise as the knockabout humour that you tend to associate with most musicians……
What??
So I'm likely to get kicked out of 2 bands I play in because I don't make comments to the female singers about the size of their t**ts, because that's what a proper musician does??
Next time I get a session playing for a female artsist I'll remember that because I'm a musician I must get a Bernard Manning joke book out and be sure to tell a few.
Glad I'm not "most musicians" mate, otherwise I might as well go back to scaffolding.......where no one cared if you didn't read the sun actually.
As for the site not having good debate, what this.....??
Personally, I like this site, it's a good community and pretty well managed.
There are plenty of other sites that sell gear, and plenty of forums that offer technical advice pertaining to specific manufacturers....

Anyway rant and brain fart over...but I just hate being told that I have to conform.....

Siddx wasn't happy with my thread. A couple of PM's have rectified the situation.

For the record, I'm not sexist in any way. I thought the MILF thread was harmless, and I'm entitled to an opinion. My own thread was a joke, but if people didn't find it funny, then fair enough. That's my sense of humour. But to be humiliated with a warning was a bit harsh.

As for TalkBass?...well, you're talking about a country that overreacted unbelievably over Janet Jackson exposing a breast for a few seconds. A bunch of hypocrites.

Anyway, back to my copy of The Sport...

Ultimately, the moderators control all and can decide which threads stay or go.

Moral perspectives are subjective.

But I do get the impression some are going a bit far with trying to show their 'right on' credentials.

For me, there's been no harm in any of it. No abuse, porn or debasement. Just a bunch of musicians bantering and indulging in a bit of bawdy humour in an off topic forum. Like a lot of films or tv programmes: if you don't like it, don't watch it.

That's exactly what I thought.

Bit of an old slapper, that one...
I can see that propped up in an Essex bus shelter and surrounded by chips, white shoes and rubbers.
IMO it's not about the PC brigade, I couldn't give 2 shits about how much porn you watch or whatever but there is something creepy about a load of men letching over women in a public forum.
TBH- I hate coming into these things at the end but I do agree with wayne on this one.

Janek anyone?
It's never personal on the internet, it's just some people take it that way.

Off you go then, Lady Sonia is waiting for you and your credit card (providing you are old enough to apply for one) :)

Q: How many lesbians does it take to screw in a light bulb?

A: It would depend on a number of variables: the height of the light socket, the stability of any ladders used, the procurement of any necessary permits, compliance with union regulations and whether one counts the labor involved in the production of the bulb and light fixture. The gender and sexuality of the participants, however, are irrelevant.

Just trying to lighten proceddings LOL !
