This is 30miles from me.
What do I do? What do I do? *flails arms zanily*
Do nothing...especially not buy it for £2K.
In my humble opinion I think that bass is barely worth half what he's asking for it - if that. Why?

He's managed to break the truss rod (WTF?) - so the neck/fretboard has had to be repaired

The pickups /wiring aren't original

Sounds like there's been some re-routing to fit the EMGs & wiring

The bridge is replaced & then it's not even a real Badass bridge!

Someone's carved their name into the back of the headstock & this guy thinks 'great idea - I'll carve mine on top!'

Who knows what else has been messed with?

It looks in pretty poor condition & has been abused & chopped about rather than cared for & cherished

No ashtrays, or case
Yeah, I think you're pretty much on the money here. When I first saw the auction, I thought "yeah, that's priced about right". But reading through it, the amount of damage and the changes on this bass have destroyed it's value. He's kidding himself if he honestly thinks he'll get £2000 for it.
See his other bass for sale if you want a real laugh :)
Actually, this makes me feel a little better, because at least I know there's only one clown responsible for both of these! To be honest, the Japanese bass is probably the more ridiculous price - I can't see that being worth more than £4-500. The '69 is probably worth a grand, so it's only twice the value!!

Check out the new price - now at £3K BIN - and his comments about low offers...
This guy must be living on his own little planet!

Though he is entitled to put it up for whatever price he wants, I think we all agree he's a t*t for imagining it's worth that! I would still genuinely want to ask him why he thinks it justifys that price tag.
I've got two word for that. Rip off.
Just because he's a t*t for imagining for one minute that the bass is worth £3k does not make it a 'rip off'!

No one is being conned or forced to part with £3k he is simply deluding himself and paying great big fat listing fees to eBay... if heaven forbid, someone did give him £3k for it then more fool them.

Holy crap.

Well - if someone is that daft & really has paid him £3K...then the seller has had the last laugh!

Hey - maybe I should put my 100% original '72 Jazz on there for £5K BIN???

Yeh... NOT.

The only feedback that'lll be left for that will be negative. The buyer is from the USA, that'll be about $6000 + shipping and you can find them in the States for a lot less than that. Alternatively it will appear back up for sale saying buyer had to pull out blah blah blah (probably a mate in the States doing the supposed buying) and the seller will be hoping some sucker that was watching it will jump in and buy it this time.
