BarnacleBob
Prompted by Janspeelbass' thread on Wilkes guitars I got to thinking........... This info is probably somewhere on the forum in one form or another but I was hoping to compile a list of British Bass builders past and present. I once had a cunning plan to try and collect at least one nice example from each one but now wonder how many that would result in. I would say the 'biggies' currently are Overwater, Status, Sei, Jaydee, GB and Wal (whatever is happening there) but there are probably loads more than I think. BassBunny
Gordon Smith, (but they don't build Basses any more). Ged Green does his own range of Basses/Guitars as well as repairs. Edited July 27, 2009 by BassBunny
BarnacleBob
There is a London based luthier called J & S ...something( I think). Make cracking neck through basses - they have put a couple direct onto eBay and they do have a website but cant recall it if anyone has any idea. While the presence of a web site is by no means a guarantee that the company/individual are still in business, the absence of one would suggest that they are not.
