Can anybody identify the bass that this Walker Brother is playing? Looks sorta Fendery but the scratchplate is all wrong.

I found the body and neck of a Symphonic bass in a skip many years ago. Gave it to a repairer pal who fixed it up and sold it. I wonder if I should have kept it. Probably collectable by now. Love the photo - the good old days of miming to the record. No attempt to make it look live. No cables to the instruments and not a mic' in sight.

Headstock looks a bit different - the Vox is like the bastard offspring of a Buzzard and a Sire, the one in the original photo looks like a Fender headstock in a corset. Controls on the scratchplate look the same though.

The headstock shape looks pretty much the same to me if foreshortening due to perspective is taken into consideration.

I took my own advice and prompted two different AI models about the instrument in the photo and they both bombed.  They thought it was a Burns Vista Sonic.  Fail.
