Quatschmacher Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago (edited) Looks interesting. Takes the same concept they use on their plugout synths: Edited 13 hours ago by Quatschmacher Quote
fretmeister Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago 16 pedals to start. Then about £10 per new pedal as they are launched. Limited user slots for new pedals. Have to use an app to put new pedals on it. I'm sure it will sell loads, but it really looks like Boss had a look at the Line 6 HXOne (200+ pedals in it, no cost for updates and new sounds, no need to use the app) and just did the opposite. The Boss is slightly more expensive too. I would really really like a Turbo Distortion that didn't have the mad hiss levels of the original, but I still wouldn't buy this. Quote

Yeah, some folks have relabelled the slogan from “play for life” to “pay for life”.😂 2 Quote
fretmeister Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago It's going to be like that old gag - Jimmy Page's telecaster sold a lot of Les Pauls. This pedal is going to sell a huge amount of HXOnes. 1 Quote
simisker Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago (edited) Yeah, it feels like a day late and a dollar short. Not for the first time, I look at this and see a Boss/Roland product with a UI from the 1990s. I'm watching the Andertons vid now, and comparing this to my powerful and flexible HX One, this feels... quaint. Sure, you get the classic Boss form factor... but the compromises are significant. LukeFRC Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago It’s interesting how at various times Zoom and Eventide have tried the “buy the hardware and then paid software add ons” - which in theory should work - but in practice people just want to buy a thing and have all of it. Quote
SimonK Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago ...and yet as someone who has an entirely analogue board the appeal of a pedal with a familiar shape and a few extra tricks up its sleeve for occasional use is appealing... never even been remotely tempted by the Line6 stuff as too much scrolling... Woodinblack Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Not quite seeing it - if you want a multi effect there are plenty that size, or if you want an optional single effect that you can pick from a large amount, there are plenty of options for that, that isn't this, don't want too many options, there are a lot of far cheaper ones that don't need a phone to set up. And almost all cheaper and not needing to buy the 17th onward effect. Their selling point here is 'We know everyone else has already done it, but we are boss'. Quote
songofthewind Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Kinda reminds me of the Digitech iStomp. Which I have and like. Quote
