dave_bass5 Posted August 15 Posted August 15 This look quite cool. I do all my home playing using headphones, but I quite fancy this to noodle on when the family are out. https://www.thomann.co.uk/joyo_ba_30_micro_bass_amp_white.htm?srsltid=AfmBOorOmjq8Tw1bwMWrWG4EeWgiHubdmTQVKqi-ubA5aP97cv6qPGGBrY4 4 Quote
zonular Posted August 16 Posted August 16 I'm debating one for my son (hes looking for his own bass for an upcoming birthday) Compared to the fender rumble 15 it seems quite feature packed. Hopefully someone takes a punt on one and reports back Quote

Stub Mandrel Posted August 17 Posted August 17 The Joyo Badass sounds incredible. If they made a 500W version I'd get one tomorrow. 1 Quote
dave_bass5 Posted August 17 Author Posted August 17 Ive got a Rumble 25, had it for a few years, probably used it 5 times. It's a lovely combo but I just cant be bothered getting it out to play once every now and then. I think the Joyo is small enough to sit on the or under my desk for when I do fancy a blast. 1 Quote
Stub Mandrel Posted August 17 Posted August 17 I'd add if this us the same compressor as the badass it's pretty good. 1 Quote

I love the larger Rumbles but the 15's got nowt going for it , tonewise and obviously not enough power for anything but solo practice. 2 1 Quote

These things have a use, and I can’t see that use disappearing it’s small, loud, you can feed it Bluetooth and it runs off a power bank. treble and bass speaker plus a carry handle What’s not to like? if you have an acoustic bass it’s the perfect topup to match one or two acoustic guitars for volume in a jam What’s not to like? lemmywinks Posted Monday at 08:20 Posted Monday at 08:20 Keep in mind the BassThe World videos are just adverts for whatever Thomann want to sell you, stil llike 'em (particularly when Lars Lehmann is on) but they aren't objective reviews. This looks like it has a passive radiator on the back so should kick out way more focused low end that you'd expect if placed in front of a solid object, not so much if it's in the middle of the room. Can also run off a suitable power bank and has bluetooth which are very handy features for this sort of amp. Anybody looking at this category of amp that doesn't mind spending another £150 should grab the PJB Double Four with battery pack that's in the Marketplace on here though. Crazy little things. 1 Quote

Also mostly recorded direct to a DAW via the Headphone out, which sort of bypasses all the stuff we would be interested in hearing 🙄. Still going to get one, but im not one to pre order, as i wouldn't get any sleep while im waiting for it to arrive lol. 1 Quote

Yeah at that price it's almost certain to be a useful thing to have around purely due to the size, power options and bluetooth. If I didn't have the Double Four I'd definitely be getting one as I've always kept a mini practice rig around and £78 is nothing if it's something you use regularly, not sure if I prefer it in black or white: Quote
dave_bass5 Posted Monday at 19:44 Author Posted Monday at 19:44 Definitely white for me. It's going on my white desk. Quote
PaulThePlug Posted Monday at 19:52 Posted Monday at 19:52 Shame it doesn't have a kick back... slope like the top. Quote

ProjeKtWEREWOLF Posted Monday at 22:13 Posted Monday at 22:13 I'll be getting one at some point to replace my old Gear 4 Music 15w monster amp. I'd like something smaller for low volume practice when I'm sat on the sofa. Thomann has a 12- 15 week wait until restock. Quote
