ped Posted Thursday at 13:25 Posted Thursday at 13:25 I know, but hear me out. On stage - a Hercules that grabs the neck and wonât fall over. No question. But at home, most stands are a bit ugly arenât they. I saw this on FB and originally laughed - but then I bought one. I like the Danish design language and I buy most things advertised to me.  https://openhagen.com/en-gb/collections/stands/products/nordic-fold-floor-stand  it got me thinking about what other ridiculous stands there are out there, and I came across these. Whatâs that? No money for food this week? Well thatâs because I bought a mini leather chair for my bass  https://minimstudio.co/shop Does anyone else have some luxury stands to share?  Im actually quite impressed with the Openhagen - itâs nicely made and wonât leave impressions on the carpet. It might be allowed to stay in the lounge.   7 Quote
Russ Posted Thursday at 13:54 Posted Thursday at 13:54 Was always fond of the venerable Catch-O-Matic. But I don't believe they're being made any more (unless someone knows differently - if so, post a link!). 1 Quote
dave_bass5 Posted Thursday at 16:03 Posted Thursday at 16:03 I like that Ped, but not sure i'd get one if the back of your bass is anything got go by đđ 3 Quote
Magister Ludi Posted Thursday at 16:05 Posted Thursday at 16:05 (edited) Ped-Did you buy the Scandifluff for using with your no doubt, huge collection,of nitro-finished rarities ? The Cork is a neutral material I understand.....But the Cost-ouch! Â Â Â I knew it was you straight away-the Valcos gave it away! Edited Thursday at 16:06 by Magister Ludi Quote

Sparky Mark Posted Thursday at 19:45 Posted Thursday at 19:45 (edited) The Openhagen is beautiful, but I think a large part of the high price is due to the fold flat capability that isn't really a requirement if it stays permanently in a living room. It makes postage and transportation to other locations cheaper/easier, but I think a beautiful non collapsible design could be a lot simpler and therefore cheaper. A non collapsible design could still be shipped as a flat pack to be assembled in situ. Edited Thursday at 19:53 by Sparky Mark Quote

Stub Mandrel Posted Thursday at 22:29 Posted Thursday at 22:29 Looks the sort of thing Joe Dart would have on stage. Quote

I went to get another one not all that long ago, and they're impossible to find now. Quote
KingBollock Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago  I have a couple of these in the living room. One for guitar and one for a mandolin. Theyâre nothing special but they are nicer than normal guitar stands. They come in two parts, so they pack down nice and flat. And theyâre only ÂŁ12.99.  I love the grabby Hercules stand but it wonât take my favourite bass (not tall enough) nor my favourite guitar (the Telecaster headstock not being wide enough). 1 Quote
Stub Mandrel Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Have you seen the new Hercules that come with extra rings that fit on the grab to make it narrower? 1 Quote

Iâve tried some like that and quite like them generally I find they make the bass lean too far backwards and/or ones designed for holding acoustics have feet that are too wide and stick out Quote

Highly tempted to get some pretty wood and have a bash at making something like this for my ABG. I've got some marine plywood with quite highly-figured top plies... hmmm...  1 Quote

ossyrocks Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago I thought about this quite a lot when I was re-doing the lounge last year. I play every day, in that room, and in the end I decided on a more permanent solution and put Hercules hangars on the wall. Â Rob 2 Quote

HeadlessBassist Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Really liking that Openhagen one, Ped. Very stylish. Â I recently ordered a couple of the rather good Fender "Offset Bass" mini stands, which are perfect for Jazz Basses, as you can make the left side slightly higher. They're very stable and surprisingly compact. Not sexy like the Openhagen, though. Why they didn't think of this 60 years ago, I have no idea... Â Â Â 2 Quote
tinyd Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago I use this small Hercules one for my Jazz bass - works well and it's pretty small / neat.  https://www.thomann.de/ie/hercules_stands_gs402b.htm Quote
