Mickeyboro Posted June 22 Posted June 22 A bit of history would be interesting… 🙏 I own a similar ‘71! Quote
gregorbass Posted June 22 Author Posted June 22 in my possession for 8-10 years.. I don't remember exactly.... 100 percent original except for the jack socket. I have the original socket removed. original bridge and pickup covers included. hard case in which it was purchased in the store - without the Fender logo. Quote
Steve Browning Posted June 23 Posted June 23 (edited) I suspect people will want far more information than that. Weight, nut width, maybe an assessment of fret wear. These would be the very least. My '71 also has the non-logo case. Apparently cases were sourced separately at the time. Lovely looking bass, for sure, but more information would help you reach serious buyers. I might also heed the scam warnings and put your username on a card and photograph it under the strings of the bass too. Edited June 23 by Steve Browning 4 Quote
petecarlton Posted June 23 Posted June 23 Also perhaps your location, plus another 20 pix showing innards, date stamps, etc., please. 2 Quote
Steve Browning Posted July 2 Posted July 2 I'm sorry but you are going to have to provide more information before anyone makes contact. You want serious buyers, you should show yourself to be a serious seller. It's a lovely bass, for sure, but I woud doubt anyone will be interested without the other informatuon that has been suggested. The effort will be worth it, I'm sure. Apologies if that sounds harsh. 4 Quote
Magister Ludi Posted July 2 Posted July 2 Gregor-you should take heed at the wise words from Steve, if you really want to sell........serious buyers want serious infos & data-no one drops that sort of money without serious provenance. So are you saying that you will only show/tell the good stuff to peeps who PM you? Strange...... Quote

Steve Browning Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago He seems (from his edit) to be irritated by the criticism (that is intended to help him). Given the lack of the anti-scam evidence, and his reluctance to provide simple information, it may be that he does't actually even own this bass. Just saying. 1 1 Quote
gregorbass Posted 10 hours ago Author Posted 10 hours ago Before you judge someone, think twice about what you write... I'm writing in the ad asking only seriously interested people to contact me via private message. If someone doesn't understand, it's not my fault.... Quote
Reggaebass Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Just my opinion gregor, with vintage instruments some people like to study all the usual stamps, codes and internal pics before they make an enquiry, I myself like to see these, I think you may stand more chance of selling, anyway good luck with your sale, it looks great Quote

Hutton Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Hi Gregor, If a potential buyer contacts you by private message are you going to provide the photographs and info that is being suggested in previous posts. It may help if you can give this assurance. Quote
gregorbass Posted 9 hours ago Author Posted 9 hours ago well, as I wrote... I kindly ask seriously interested people to contact me and I will receive all the necessary information... Quote
gregorbass Posted 9 hours ago Author Posted 9 hours ago I know it's a lot of money (at least for me) and it's a serious purchase, so I'd like to talk only to people who are seriously interested in buying it... My ad isn't a request for help in identifying what kind of guitar it is, but rather a sale of a specific bass. I didn't inherit this guitar and don't know anything about it, I've only been collecting basses for about 20 years... I think I know quite a lot about them... to put it mildly. Quote
gregorbass Posted 9 hours ago Author Posted 9 hours ago In another ad, I'm selling a wonderful bass, a copy of the Fodera Monarch made by my friend from martch.pl. The bass is a few years old but in new condition, with no signs of wear. It was custom-made for me. I highly recommend it. Great bass. Quote

Everyone here is trying to help you sell your bass. No-one is questioning your knowledge. We are trying to help you attract serious buyers. The other bass you refer to has remained unsold for 20 months. Anyway, I think we've done our best to help you. I hope you raise the funds you need for your house. GLWTS (sincerely). 1 1 Quote
Beedster Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago 100% with Steve, any seller who needs to have a ‘private’ chat about a bass is a seller I’m not buying from and who to my mind is not behaving in line with the spirit of this forum 1 Quote
