Will you stop saying that I keep looking at my Thunder 1A thinking the very same thing... it'd cure the neck dive and save a fair bit of weight. My T1-A has no original preamp, a body full of big dings, it's been round the block and got beaten up on every street corner, but with its cheapy no-name 2 band eq it sounds like a P bass on steroids and it'd be nice to be able to use it.
