Check the other YooChoob vid with the P-bass.

Just watched that one and I think it's probably diplomatic to keep quiet about the musicianship on show. The bass clearly has grounding issues though which may explain the shielding attempt on the purple horror. No mention of it on the listing, yours for £231 & £18.50 shipping:

Christ, there's some serious earthing issues on that bass for sure! It actually doesn't sound that bad but that video could never do it any justice whatsoever.

It's also working for cats. My cat Jazzy who is accustomed to modal music just looked at me saying "Mercy please !"...

And her look was telling me she was close to run away forever.

Man, this guy is a suitable case for treatment.

He must be John Shuttleworth's dad.

Knew he reminded me of someone!

Just watched that P-bass vid again. Initially, I thought it was some free-form Cream-style jam he was doing but I now reckon it's 'Always on my mind'. I can see MDP being an Elvis fan.

Also check the bridge on this acoustic:

Neck completely goosed? Not to worry, just attack the bridge with an angle grinder to get the action down and label it "not for solos or picking" as it won't play above the 5th fret. I mean it's not like you can buy a decent starter acoustic anywhere else for £70 is it?

Even the baseplate has been hacked. Is that Bostik under there??

I shall have nightmares for weeks after seeing that, the more you look the worse it gets.  Forget leaving the EU without a deal, the date 24/06/19 is when the whole world went crazy.

'but each time I look at that glue stain where the makers name was on the head I can nearly remember the shape of the word... any ideas anyone?

'Firewood'?  'Waste of money' ? 'Snakeoil' ? 'Charlatan'?  'Abomination' 'Botched?' 'Texas Chainsaw massacre'?

  • 3 weeks later...

Is that an extra screw he's fired in there on that neck/body join? And is there a crack in the neck, up near the headstock? I wonder if he cut that Ripper-style 'plate himself?

'....soaking away the static...' - Indeed,  Sir!👌

There's a new bass, seems like this one took a bit more work to bolt together due to the body and neck being completely incompatible.

Here's the neck pocket:

And the now standard different coloured control knobs.

This for me is new territory.
