Here's one I've been working on. Had to use some awful video editor to upload it as the general camera on my phone keeps crashing so ignore the weird imprint and double shot on the sides :)

Trying to incorporate the octave picking/typewriter technique in some of my playing

Cheers

Welcome aboard!

I'm currently at work so can watch but not listen... looks great :) (nice bass too). I'll give it a proper listen when I get home this evening.

Need to get something recorded myself. It won't be anywhere near as proficient as some of you guys. Yes, I am making excuses already.

Don't worry about that - just turn it up and brazen it out - that's what I do (Emperor's New Clothes 'n'all!).

My Big Muff can hide a multitude of sins! (I’m sure that’s not the first time you’ve heard that said…).

I’ve actually been practicing a lot of disco/funk riffs of late due to receiving this book as a Christmas prezzie. So I’ll probably base something on one of those and let my inner Bernard Edwards shine through :D

I liked that thought it was cool, liked the tone too and always nice to see some playing too. It reminded me of something don't know what though.
And not that bad a quality a recording.

Noodled!

To paraphrase Jessie's Diets* from the Fast Show: "this month, I have been mostly been playing funk and disco."

Played on a Cort Rithimic V with the tone dialled towards the bridge. Recorded DI into my computer via an EBS combo amp, everything set flat. Some compression applied in after FX. I left the hi-hat track I'd used for tempo as part of the mix.

Doing this really makes me aware of how much I need to work on my timing and muting. That's a good thing, right!?

I liked the funk. I listened very carefully twice, I could hear the strings but the muting I didn't hear anything in particular, maybe a case of your hearing it more from the bass than what's coming out? Or maybe covered over by the click track/metronome whatever lol
Sounded great to me.

Anyone else going to get there noodle on?

Cheers Twincam! I'm always uber-critical of my own playing... comes from producing music with other bassists who can really play ;)

Thanks for the +ve feedback.

Bit last minute this but I thought I'd support Twincam's idea and represent the dark side of the forum. This isn't an original composition, just mucking around with a classic tune and attempting to approximate the drums and bass.

Track was recorded direct into my zoom H2N and is unprocessed bar editing to length. I noticed when listening back a siren in the background, so that part got kept, and bollocks to trying to isolate the better playing later on.
