Barefaced customer support

Hi everybody!

I have bought Barefaced Super Twin (3rd generation) cabinet about 2 years ago.
I am getting old and I wanted to have lightweight, loud and good sounding cabinet...Super Twin looked just right.
Cabinet met my expectations in every way and I have used it in many rehearsals and quite a few gigs.
Since recently, I used Super Twin exclusively with EBS T90 90W all tube amplifier...sound was superb...warm, deep, loud enough to be easily heard in 4 piece Rock/Blues/Country band.
...but, in some situations 90W were just not enough and T90's simple EQ did not allowed significant sound tweaking.
So...about month ago I bought Gallien Krueger MB500 and paired it with Super Twin.
Combination is LOUD and good sounding, sound is different from what I was used to but finding the sound right for me was not a problem.
But...with more wattage I have noted presence of discrete rubbing noise in one of the drivers. Noise started when I turned loudness up, in medium/low loudness situation, noise was not audible.
I took driver out, inspected inside of the cab for possible wire or insulation rubbing problem...everything seemed OK.
Noise was not very loud but I was fixed on it and it started to disturb me...so I contacted Alex (Barefaced No. I man) over email.

Respons was prompt with advise to swap drivers just to be sure that that particular driver is cause of the noise. It was.

Alex immediately, with no additional questions, sent new driver and FedEx guy rang on my door yesterday.
I have installed new driver and tested it with band the same day...perfect...no noise, just big, loud, deep, clean sound... :))

My faulty driver is sent to Barefaced for inspection...

In my book, this is the best possible customer support ...

Many thanks to Alex and Barefaced team

Lovely to hear about such great service. I will certainly be in contact with Alex this year as my 40th approaches and I get to treat myself. It's this kind of service that creates real and justified brand loyalty.
I recently had great support from John East after buying a bass on here with a J-retro fitted. Previous owner had wired it up wrong and battery was draining quickly. John sorted it very quickly and without charge. I'll definitely be using and recommending his products again.

Whenever I`ve dealt with Alex he`s been superb. Always offered very good advice about his products, to the point where I`ve not bought new/extra Barefaced cabs as his advice has been to stick with the Barefaced cabs I already have. I wonder how many other brands would act in such a way.

You`ll notice a real difference Jim, mainly on the highs. I used to use Markbass (got a lovely sound, especially with a Precision imo) and it`s amazing the amount of high their cabs roll-off.

Did you have the tweeter on maximum Lozz? Just curious.

A couple of years ago I was looking for a couple of 2x12s to replace my stack. I took an interest in the Big Twin 2s. He could have kept quiet and sold me 2 of them, but he said, "Er... you'll only need one of these, mate." He was indeed correct. Unusual honesty!

IOm my Markbass combo/cab I had the tweeters on (the tweeter on the combo didn`t have an adjuster), and with my Tech21 VT Bass I had to have the treble on full. When I changed rigs I used the same settings with the tweeter off on the Barefaced and immediately had to back off of the treble as it was now way too much.
