This seems like a good time to calm the nerves of the multitudes rendered insensible at the sight of a gentleman [s]playing with his pink wood in [/s][s]public[/s] owning a bass in very pale red, by posting a picture of the legendary Shrinking Violet being used in anger.

Any excuse!

Limelight in shell pink with tort and rosewood

Saw this shell pink on the Limelight thread
and I have to say it's possibly my favourite looking bass...... ever! :)

I really like the colour, and I have to agree with a previous post
in that I think it somehow just works better if slightly roadworn
I can't put my finger on quite why that is, for me it just does

My first thought was that the tort plate wasn't the best
and I normally like tort best of all
But it can prove difficult to photograph, and accurately capture the colour
So maybe, in the flesh, it looks fine

That shell pink Jazz with the tort plate looks fab

Maybe try a white one?
But ultimately, it's up to you
You don't have to justify your choices to anyone,
least of all yourself (stolen from another BC'er!)

PS. Let us know what you opt for
PPS. Whatever that is, it will be "right" ;)

Pink is fine. I have an MIJ '96 Anniversary Jazz which I acquired many years ago through this Forum. It has all the signs of being heavily used both by the original owner and myself. I found that the original white scratch plate was a bit too in-your-face so I changed it to a Tort. This was taken before I changed back to a VVT control plate.

This is now a new favourite. Wow! :D

Well you're all GAY!

Or maybe I am. It's a question of degree really, isn't it? I probably wouldn't play a pink bass, but I might play a pale red one, or a light purple one, or something... I like that aged, washed-out Fiesta Red/salmon colour you sometimes get, and that's as close to pink as... something close to a pink thing is, probably... I dunno, I'm a bit confused... *Plays Ethel Merman record at top volume*

Saw this today with a very unusual Shell Pink front door and thought of this thread.
