My first ever gig

So, at the tender age of 50, last night was my first ever actual gig.
Despite our regular rehearsals, I messed up in the first bar of the first song.
As we play originals, only the band noticed!
Uphill all the way from there and we completed the planned set list - 8 songs in total.
Still grinning to myself now...

Yes, it is good fun. Some one asked me if we had any CDs...!

Well that's the next stage, do some recording, design some t-shirts and get your merch stall sorted out!
You're not going to make a living just from gig money! You have to diversify! ;)

As above, get the muff up out of the way early then relax and enjoy.
It's great innit - I used to play about 4 gigs a year 20 years ago, retired for 15 years then got back into playing and now doing about 45/50 gigs a year and loving every one of them with no nerves whatsoever!

Nice one!

We're still just messing about at the local open mic each week (honing our craft, I think it's called... ;) ), but are angling for a spot at a local festival some time during the Summer for my first "proper" gig.

A Festy sounds like the way to go, Tony M.

Our drummist has some Go-pro footage of the set. There are "..a few jazz.chords.." apparently.

I think he means busking bass lines....

Yeah, I occasionally take our stuff in a slight "jazz" direction, but usually manage to find my way back to normality before there's too much damage done! B)
