Yes, see that you do, sir!
Actually, I do like that SR5. Might have to do a spot of Teal hunting myself!! :)
I used to have a fretless Westone Thunder IIa just like yours, years and years ago... Probably around 1982 - at the height of the fretless mania created by the likes of Mick Karn and Pino Palladino et al.

It was my first 'new' bass and I had to wait ages for it 'cos having a fretless neck was a custom order jobbie.

In the end I traded it in for my Aria SB. This was in a shop in Croydon somewhere. I see you're from London, it would be funny if yours was my old one...
As promised, piccies of my '83 Cutlass I - purchased 2nd hand from the Bass Centre in Wapping back in '88.

All original - apart from the tuners which were replaced 5 years ago with pukka MusicMan replacements (the originals tarnished something rotten, but I still have them laying around somewhere).

Enjoy!
Mmmmmm dont suppose YOU want a Pedulla in trade for this Cutlass? Is the neck straight? :)
sweet! how come you got rie of the HH?
i really want a 20th SR5 too... so pretty! :)
Thanks!
Reason for letting the HH go - how about constant GAS and limited funds?
More seriously - overlap from the 30th and lack of B-string. Got it as a substitute for a 20th SR5 HH but alas, it only made my 20th SR5 HH GAS even deeper - surprise surprise!
That red 30th is a stunning looking bass
Thanks mate - nice innit!

I bought my first Thunder IIa (used) in around '85 but sold it in '97 to help fund my SR5. I always said I'd try and get the same type Thunder IIa again if and when possible. That finally happened back in March of this year, bought from a very nice man in Scotland (not sure if a BC'er?).
The fretless Thunder IIa, I've had since about 1986/7. (Also had a Thunder Jet and a Thunder Ia fretless during the '80s).

Ok, folks - not wishing to hijack the MM Porn Thread, I've started a Westone Porn Thread here:

got my new phone which has a camera on it so took a couple of photos of my stingray. It's a 3eq 20006 one i believe bought from Fatos (BassKS) here on BC earlier this year. Added some black beauties to it for a bit of contrast but i'll prob revert back to hi-beams after these are done as they tend to rip my fingers to shreds!

Here goes my first attempt at adding photies:

Edit for finally figuring out how to get photos to show!

And please tell me that radiator is not on!

(sorry - couldn't resist)
Bargain of the century I have to say!! As everyone knows it's vintage instruments that have the high price tag. The older it is, the more expensive. Well mine isn't even built for another 17,997 years so it was dirt cheap!

Of course the radiator is on. I live in Scotland. Don't want my poor stingray freezing do I! I give it a hat and scarf at night too! Setriously tho, no, it wasn't on and it doesnt usually live there, was moved there for the photo!

Here's my 1992 honeyburst Stingray, with clear acrylic scratch plate (no I don't where to get on as it came with it when I bought it second hand) and custom flight case.
wow, now that's special!! trans blue burst rays are really well sought after as they're pretty rare, and so are SR5's with white pickup covers, you've got yourself a rare bass there! pretty too :)
thanks for comments ...................... I love the colour and the lovely birds eye figuring which also runs full length on back of neck. However did not realise that the bass was a bit rarer than others (body colour and white pups ...................... all original,I`ve had this from about 1994)
