[s]For sale my ACG Graft Finn 4 string, got this recently to try as I'd not tried one of Alan's passive basses before (tried plenty of his active ones though!) and while I love it, it's so easy to play and sounds awesome, I'm really missing a 5th string and just know it won't get used cos I really need a 5 string that fits my hands as well as this 4 string does!

Zebrano top
Alder body
Hipshot Type B (19mm spacing)
Assymetric neck carve and zero radius fingerboard
Gotoh GB7 tuners.
ACG Custom Pickups with FB humbucker pups in 25mm wide housing Hipshot string tree.

Volume/Tone/4 way rotary pickup selector (neck, both series, both parallel, bridge)

Love the bass but has to be active for me. good luck with the sale.

Cheers matey :) the beauty of alan's control layout is that it's mega easy to put an east pre in there as the hole layout is identical ;)

Gorgeous bass, and a cracking price! If it was a 3" scale I'd be in a lot of trouble. GLWTS :)

Should be noted it weighs something silly, around 8lbs but could easily be less as Alan said it was considered light weight and my new one is medium weight and that is only 8.5lbs.

Also it's very easy to retro fit one of the ACG actives into this, or any other preamp as the back compartment already has a battery box routed (as with all grafts they are cut to be chopped and changed if needed)

Classic jazz tones all the way through this bass.

My thoughts on a couple of points raised above ;)

Jazz comparison...hhmmm I'd say it's generally got a bit more sonic beans due to the two humbuckers and there's a bit of an s1 switching homage in the series / parallel options in the 4 way rotary switch.

Neck-wise the nut width is 42.5mm according to my old school ruler but the profile being asymmetric means it feels even more comfy than it sounds, a tad wider than a j but fitting the hand better and just sitting nicely.

The zero radius along with the superb fretwork helps make the whole thing play like greased lightning.

The 24 fret fingerboard coupled with the relatively small body / lush contours provides excellent access to the whole dusty end but without compromising overall balance.

Does that help?

Have you used a pick with this bass mate? Would it be sacrilege to use a pick with such a superb finish?!
[/quote]

I haven't actually as am a very infrequent picker on bass, I do know of folks who happily use a pick on their acg and this being passive I'd have thought soundwise it'd take to it rather nicely :)

Pity this aint active, id have jumped at it!!

The control locations and control cavity are done to fit an East pre perfectly so it can be made active quite easily ;)

Are you sure the pickups are humbuckers? On the ACG web page it looks like this is G0006, which is listed as having "SB" single coils:

Also, is there any way you can weigh it (even semi-accurately)?

Oh, and hi, Basschat - this is my first post!
