Born 2B Mild
Am I alone in wishing there was a small bass power amp (like the size of a VHS cassette) that is designed to fit on a floorboard?
Roland Rock
On a pedalboard? If there was something that small, I'm sure there would be a market. If it was that good, I'd like to see powered cabs with these fitted inside
crez5150
GK MB500 is not far off that size
discreet
GK MB200 is even smaller.
MothBox
http://www.hotoneaudio.com/nanolegacy/thunderbass.html Saw these in a local shop recently, tiny, but not convinced they'd really get a decent volume from them.

Musicman20
I'm sure in the near future we will see tiny power amps that can be used on your pedal board with a pedal as a pre amp. The GK MB200 is the closest at the moment! Or the TC BH250. Edited July 14, 2014 by Musicman20
True. I just checked out some you tube video's and they sound fine but sure i doubt if it would give much on stage volume above the guitar and drums. However it's probably cheap enough to keep as a backup in your bag and would probably sound fine if you used it with mic'd up cab.
Beer of the Bass
Would we really want to be running long speaker cables about the stage? Decent speaker cable is a bit heftier than an instrument cable.
Yeah, but they're bulky and awkward to route around the stage, being thicker and stiffer than instrument cable. A quality 6m Speakon cable is probably getting on for the size and weight of a small head like a GK MB or similar. So although you could stick the amp on the pedalboard, I think I'd still rather put it on top of the cab.
That's also true - in fact I don't see the point of having your amp on the floor unless you've got room on a sizeable pedalboard that you use anyway - there's no useful control you can have over it with your foot! And if you don't use pedals it's going on top of your cab so you'd probably want something bigger and heavier anyway as the thing will likely always be being vibrated or pulled off all the time. Mmm... vibrated and pulled off all the time. Hurr.
Ghost_Bass
There's the Demeter "Minnie" 800D. Not cheap though: http://www.juleamps.com/bass/de-monique.html
LawrenceH
What they should do, right, is build the micro amp into the speaker cab itself. I'm a genius! Patent office here I come...
