Apart from a miniscule "bloom" under the lacquer, I can't see anything wrong with it. For £40 something it's a bargain. Parcelforce seem to have got their act together. That was quite some time ago now. There were left handed natural four string dekos for sale in April and May. There was a fretless RH one in June. I actually prefer the unbranded one to the Fishman one in more expensive model. I'd imagine that the Fishman electrics in the deko are worth more than the price of a deko. I can see a small mark on the Top wood below the bridge that is under the lacquer and that's it. (Other than the "D's" stamped on the back that is). First impression is that it is bargainous, in desperate need of a setup and some decent strings as the ones that are on it are possibly the worst strings I have ever seen. Bright and bronzey - yes, but you can see that money has been saved here. Not that it matters as they are the first thing scheduled for replacement. Once done, I still dont get my hands on it properly as Mrs S is determined to wrap it up for my birthday in August. NBD to follow.... I put Fender flatwounds on mine, as I wanted to experiment with a full set of flatwounds for the first time. However, I thought that the standard strings that came with it didn't sound bad as all. Bronzey yes, but with a deeper sound than some acoustic basses I've played. Both the dekos I've received have had appalling setups. The fretless acoustic was pretty much unplayable. On a quick first inspection I can see absolutely nothing wrong with it at all, other than the 'D' stamps on the back. No other blemishes, neck is straight, frets are good with no sharp or raised edges, tuners are good and most importantly it works when I plug it in!! Complete with QC tag hanging on one of the tuners and an instrument cable. Couldnt be more chuffed with a £19 bass.
