^ ^ This.^ ^ Markbass Little Mark IIs and IIIs turn up in the FS forum regularly. :)

OR... there's this for £240 - which is something of a bargain:

Having said that...

You can have your choice of the heavier amps at this price and even a few of the new lightweight ones. Do have a look in the For Sale section here, but Eden, GK and Glockenklang all very good, but all have their own sound. It might help to read a few reviews on the interweb and decide what sort of sound you want... old school warmth vs modern clean depth etc.

I was very disappointed when I read this post

You're dirty. Anyway, proper head starts at £400, everyone knows that. :P

What does a Hartke LH500 go for these days? Even brand new they can't be much more than £300. Get a used one for maybe £200.

Great value and great amps.

OK, I was a bit hopeful on the new price - but there are usually a few kicking around used. Like this one for instance... An amp that sounds great with the Peavey TVX 410 is the Gallien Kruger MB500 - especially if you like that Duff McKagan/Mike Dirnt type sounds, although it can do a lot more besides. It retails at around £400, so used it would be within budget.

Ampeg PF500 as suggested is a great amp, typical Ampeg tones, warm fat old-school sounds.

And as also suggested, a Markbass Little Mark. Well my money would be here, they are great amps, and sit so well in the mix, plus are incredibly loud as well. Little Mark Tube would be great if you can get one.

I`ve had all three, but also worth considering - amps I`ve also had - TC Electronic Classic 450, very versatile, and Orange Terror, not so versatile, but a great sound, and immense power.

Whichever, I`d look at 2nd hand on here - much more value for money, and if you aren`t keen on it after using it, you can generally move it on for what you paid for it, whereas you can`t do that with new gear.

Currently 248 quid from Thomann !

Not everybodys cup of tea obviously, but I love mine. An awful lot of amp for the money IMO.
