I've got an external one, which is basically my audio interface. i can plug, guitar, bass and microphones in through it (basically anything with a jack or XLR plug) This is what I've got, a few years old now though, but does the job for me. You get an unrestricted free trial of it & you can download plenty of free VST instruments in the sticky at the top of this forum section [url="http://basschat.co.uk/topic/77603-free-vsts/"](here).[/url] Once you get your head around using a DAW, things are easy. It can be a bit daunting when you start out (it was for me anyway), but you can work out the basics of recording, adding drums, other instruments, etc, quite quickly. I use it and its fine and has drum loops and other stuff with it. You would just need a cheap Audio Interface (about £40) and you have your recording studio setup. Like adding silly stuff to the pics never really done anything this style before, but i am enjoying it, to be honest i have had to tone down the lyrics, i have realised i have a naturally offensive to some, sense of humour. I wouldn't have toned down the lyrics at all. I wrote some truly shockers in one of the bands i was in, Band of Gold.
