Got the Time - Anthrax

I don't suppose anyone has the notation for Anthrax's cover of Got the Time? It was in Guitarist when they still had a bass techniques column, so that's going back some years but if anyone has a copy that they could scan or photocopy that would be grand.

It's the solo I can't work out by ear, just need more practice!

Can't comment on how accurate it is but they usually get you close :

You'll need tuxguitar or guitarpro to view it :)

They haven't got it!!!!!! :o

Oh.......

I've confused myself now. I clicked on your link and subscribed to UG Plus, which doesn't have it, and then I read the page your link sent me to which does :)

It's too early and I've only had one mug of tea and one of coffee!

I interviewed Frank last year for Guitar Interactive Magazine (that I write the bass department for ) prior to a Hartke bass clinic featuring Dave Ellefson from Megadeth too.

He's a top chap and we ( G.I Mag & Licklibrary) recorded this performance of Got The Time of Frank playing along to the track. You can see the bass solo in detail. It's actually fairly straight forward when you can see what is going on :)

Copied this link via ipad, but it's on Licklibrary's youtube channel: http://www.youtube.com/watch?nomobile=1&v=j7LPw4yDA9M

Thank you! The interview is also on YT! I have to admit that I was a little excited too and it shows.. But not only that, this was one of my first interviews that i did live on stage - i left all my notes in the office and i was surrounded by media types who have been doing that kinda thing for years!

That said, Frank offered me his beer and his single malt (i think) he was enjoying and was a totally friendly, approachable guy. Just like hangin out with a mate! Oh.. And I always expected both Dave and Frank to be taller lol! I am 6'3" though!

A slight derail here, but apparently "Got The Time" is one of the tracks that "Curiosity", the NASA probe, is playing as it trundles around the surface of Mars doing it's stuff:

Awesome. :)

Reading this thread and I thought I'm sure I've got this transcription - and indeed I do!
From Guitarist Magazine August 1993.

I can't scan until I'm back in work on Tuesday - I can take some photographs of the pages in the meantime if that helps?
Let me know (and if anyone else wants as well) and I'll be more than happy to send it on.

Dood, thank you very much for sharing that link. :) I'll watch the interview and the Dave Ellefson stuff as well.

Excellent! I hope you enjoy it! In the April (i think) edition I interviewed Doug Wimbish and had a cheeky lil jam with him!
