Good deal going on for EZdrummer at the moment.
Download price $29.00.
Just about the easiest Drum module/sampler around, with some great expansion packs.
I have had stuff from Sweetwater before, no problems at all with them.

I use Superior drummer a lot and love it - but EZ drummer is great too - so well, easy, to use and it sounds great - highly recommended - I struggled with BFD for years and SD was such a relief I haven't used anything else for the past couple of years... EZdrummer is a great place to start though. I'd also recommend EZplayer Pro which allows you to brows and edit MIDI files - which makes putting together long drum parts a lot easier... but that actually is a feature of EZdrummer... so buy this now - it's bloody brilliant.

Or why not get the vastly superior BFD Eco instead http://www.fxpansion...age=103&tab=276

At £29 that's worth getting even if you own EZdrummer imo. I'm curious as to why you think it's vastly superior. Not that I doubt you of course, but it would help me decide whether to splash out on it despite having committed myself to EZD and several expansions. :)

ECO has a really nice FX section within the mixer.
Everything in the box really.
Kit sound wise, they both sound great.
For me the FX is the swinger with ECO.
But hey at £29.00, a real bargain regardless.

Thanks for the recommending FXpansion BFD ECO, usual retail price is £89,
but I've just brought the last one from Nevada Music for £27 including free delivery.

Anyone know where I can get some free midi samples for ezdrummer ?
Here's a bunch of free MIDI loops you can download then drag and drop into your DAW - the Groove Monkee stuff is pretty good and covers quite a few styles:

http://www.groovemonkee.com/en/free-midi

And this is well worth buying for 25 Euros:

The TT midi drum parts are played by great, REAL, drummers and are in the main extremely ueable - I recommend you check them out

Hope that helps

My guitarist is using SSD (Steven Slate Drums) and they sound great although I'm tempted to go the EZ Drummer Route.

On the one hand it means we can do drum work across two computers (SSD)

On the other it's added versatility...(EZ)

Do you mean like playing patterns or drum/cymbal sound samples?

I'm new to EZdrummer and so far having a blast. However, I want to start writing my own drum pattern and songs. Will EZdrummer work with Pro Tools and is it possible to use EZdrummer to write your own drum patterns/songs within Pro Tools?

Total newbie here so go gentle :)

You should be able to insert it as a VST synth into protools. When you get there, you should be able to insert the synth with a midi track. Then you can either edit the midi track in house or import one from tuxguitar or whathaveyou. I know this all sounds a bit vague but I don't use protools so I am not entirely sure how you set things like that up.

Once you have the Synth/VSTi [EZdrummer] inserted in ProTools [Or any DAW]
and a Midi track assigned, you can just write in a drum part in the Piano roll view,
or the score/editor view.

You can also use a MIDI controller, or your computer keyboard, or a keyboard to play a pattern with the track armed and recording - you can then quantize the parts as much or as little as you need to and then even write in more complex bits and bobs into it in the piano roll view...

Yep, of course - also use your iPad as a controller as well with iTeleport.
