  3. Anyone had any experience of using a stand that's suitable for playing the bass whilst in the stand I have a quick instrument change show coming up... Thoughts welcome

  10. Excuse my ignorance does the fact that they're medium mean they're not weichs? If that's the case can you give me an idea of what the tension is like?

  12. Thanks Gents.. any more in the mix? I think I'm headed towards Evah Weichs.. I tried belcantos on a 75k English bass in tofts, by far the loveliest bass I've ever heard. They were great but much more for the bow I thought.
  13. The most overlooked element in the (absolutely) correct 'do it' mantra is doing it in context too. So get together with other players and read stuff so there is a collective energy keeping you moving forward... count in and off you go.

I've read the several discussions on one or another type of string but I'd like to have a bunch of recommendations for strings for arco/pizz I have some work coming doing a bit more arco (currently doing a touring show with a big band) and would like to hear people's recommendations for strings that do both well I'm currently using innovation silver slaps and can get a decent arco tone from them (my technique is solid) but I know it could be better with a more appropriate string Chuck some names and reasons at me fellas

  16. After an extremely successful fortnight at the Edinburgh Festival this lady is going to be on the road next year... UK tour beckons. I shall post details as soon as I have them.
