I do like the ODB-3, and have had one and liked the grit it added to my bass, but I couldn't get the more overdriven sounds I like with it. Any thoughts on the EBS Multidrive or the MXR M80? If you don't mind the mid scoop its very useable for tone shaping, adding tubey warmth, and is more than capable of overdriven tones too! The blend knob is probably what made me choose it over the VT bass which doesn't have one. Being able to save a few settings is incredibly useful too! EskimoBassist Posted August 28, 2011 Share Posted August 28, 2011 I've never had any problems with my MXR M-80 using my active bass however I always run into a buffered tuner first, so I can't give you an idea of how it copes with a pure active signal; but if I had to guess, I would say that it sounds the same. Its a wicked unit, great with both passive and active bass, I use one all the time and I use an active bass. Worth all the money spent on it, its a really flexible little unit, its got a d.i out as well as your normal out and it has a parallel out too! Saying that though, that darkglass unit sounded yummy!
