BottomE
The StingRay is like a raw and simple American sportscar. Loud and aggressive. The Jazz is like a Japanese Sports Car - reliable, solid performance. The Hamer is like an Italian sports car. Great angles, finesse and grunt in all the right places. Clarkson, eat my shorts
stingrayPete1977
What a cooooool car!! My Dad had two of 'em when I was a wee lad. Completely nothing to do with the thread, but that car needed pointing out!
Oh yeah I love em, I was thinking age wise as a comparison to my pre EB that they were based on something earlier (1300 fwd triumph/ P Bass) then re designed with some modern tweaks (Alloy wheels & 16 valve / active circuit & humbucker) And age wise 82 was near the end for both Triumph and MM before the Ernie Ball takeover. See I gave it some thought, All my others had similar reasons
ead
Tricky... Spector Legend 4 - Mid range "US" bass made in the far east so highly reliable - Toyota Camry? Yamaha RBX270F/L but modified - Pimped up Honda Civic? Overwater Aspiration Contemp. Jazz - How about a Porsche Boxster (if a Jazz=911 per the above posts)? Tinman
Shuker = Porsche 911 - fast, curvy and stands out in a crowd. Stingray = Ford Mustang - Not so fast but loud and aggressive as hell. Fender Jazz = Cavalier SRI - Reasonably quick and comfortable over long distances. Edited May 24, 2011 by Tinman
ShergoldSnickers
Marathon.... Sprint. Yep, another one for the Triumph Dolomite Sprint. British, not too flash, and is at least half decent. Those Triumph 4-pot engines were just fantastic - Saab developed a range of engines heavily based on this design.
