Plus I haven't yet found a set of DRs that I liked either the feel or sound of. Of course you will get slight worming on the fret board over time as they are roundwound strings. How much depends on your fretboard. Mine is polished ebony so not many marks will appear. They are best bought from the US on ebay if you want them for a decent price. Cheers.

Sir silddx did the strings come straight to you, or did you have to pick them up and pay duties, etc? I'm after some more fatbeams from the states, but concerned that it won't work out any cheaper in the end?? Thanks, John

I was thinking of doing this myself, and seeing as I can't find any single strings (not looked very hard though to be fair)...How long would the strings last in the packet? I would've thought pretty much indefinitely, but I'm sure little bits of dirt an such would get in there, do strings decay over time if they're left wrapped up in the packet? AntLockyer
silddx the bass looks awesome with those strings. White is definitely a good colour for them to go on.

I now have a small silver patch. Maybe i should have been more careful but it does show that they are a bit delicate.

4-string-thing
My orange neons arrived today (14 days from a place on ebay called music supplies direct) Now they're on my bass, I'm not so sure! Still, they only cost £22 and they will certainly get some comments! [attachment=65416:30112010_002_.jpg] [attachment=65414:30112010.jpg] The pictures don't really do them justice though! pete.young
Just beginning to wonder if I've done the right thing. I can't wait to see what the band thinks. Picture doesn't really do justice to the vividness of the colour: Edited December 5, 2010 by pete.young
ThomBassmonkey
Christ, they're expensive (in the UK), looking at Strings Direct, a lot are though. I think I've been spoiled getting stuff at trade.
