1. Hi Chris, +1 for the Dingwall to try (it's on my list to try myself) but also worth trying a Musicman 25th Anniversary in either HH or HSS configurations. Happy hunting :-)
 2. Our set opener has changed over time but currently: 1st set - Vegas Two Times - Stereophonics 2nd set - 21st Century Breakdown - Green Day
 3. Some tasty basses here Chris and great prices too. I'd be happy to add any of them into the fold if funds allowed. Chris is a top guy to deal with - buy with absolute confidence. Have a bump.
 4. Pardon? I've found over the years that my wife speaks at the wrong frequency! Gets me into and out of all sorts of trouble
 5. Here's one of me partaking in my second favourite pastime
 6.
Which Stone Roses songs do you do?
'She Bangs the Drums' and 'I am the Resurection' oh...... and Love is the Law by the Seahorses. Every one a crowd pleaser.
 7. Another vote for 'And Your Bird Can Sing' here. We play this in the middle of a set full of Green Day, RHCP, Killers, Stone Roses etc. and it works. It shouldn't, but it does. Plus it's only 2 minutes long
 8. This http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/YAMAHA-TRB5PII-Immaculate-condition-/130671476626?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item1e6ca07f92 or this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Yamaha-TRB5PII-MAPLE-5-string-Electric-Bass-/160733390739?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item256c74e793 I'm not connected with either seller but I used to own one (before I moved back to 4 strings) and they are fantastic basses. Chris Horton was selling one (as somebody previously mentioned) but I believe that's now been sold.
 9. Looks like your cat is eyeing up their new scratching post :-)
 10. I caught them at the Le Mans 24 hour bike race in 2008 (I think). Awesome!
 11. Hi Hutton, I have one of these at work and they are brilliant! http://www.csi-produ...city-p-353.html Fold flat for easy transportation with a fair sized base (as in bass not crass http://basschat.co.u...2-bass-or-base/) for your gear. What's not to like
 12. Thanks for the input so far - much appreciated.
 13. Still gassing for a 4 string version of one of these but funds won't allow just yet. Interested to know from anyone that's owned/played any of the models in the range:
How does it feel on the strap? With the straplock being over the 14th fret instead of the 12th, this will move the position further to the left. Will I need longer arms to reach the low notes?

Which is the best pickup configuration to go for? I'm looking to get as close to a jazz/precision/stingray sound as possible (so that's the H version out then) so is the HH or the HSS version the best to go for?

25th or Reflex (flefleflefleflex)

Maple neck or rosewood?

On the 25th Anniversary which looks best - the flamed or quilted maple finish?

Some of this is subjective, just interested in what others on here think.

Anyone got one up for sale?

Cheers.
14. First impression is that the price looks ok depending upon condition etc. Advertise it on here (there is nowhere better). Take some quality photos, full description (hard case/gig bag included, modifications, damage) and state where you're based. Reason for selling can also help. Be prepared to post. It should cost less than 20 quid just make sure it is packaged well. In the past I have been to Halfords to cadge an old bike box, wrapped well in bubble wrap and used both parcelforce & UPS without any issues. Oh, and be prepared for trade offers Best of luck with the sale
 15. Do you know what Gareth, i'm missing her already............think I may live to regret this. The guy I sold her to came round to try her out last night and she sounded stunning! Doh!!!
 16. Thanks for the comments guys. Bassulike66, always fancied an HH stingray myself (or a 25th Anniversary in either HH or HSS ). One day maybe. Funkygreega, this could be your next bass Best of luck with your search for the right one.
 17. Thanks for your comments guys. Xytras 1978 - I love the Fender USA Jazz deluxe and i'm sure the one you have on offer for a trade is a stunner, however, as stated in my post, I already have one of these (in sunburst, tort pickguard, rosewood) that i'm very happy with, but I don't need two so i'll pass on your offer thanks. Photo here, I don't think she looks as nice as the Stingray but she just works for me. Really after a sale so that I can invest in some motorcycle suspension upgrades so that I can spend some quality time with my other passion Tom, thanks for clarifying the situation on my behalf and for your kind comments about the bass and yes, you're right, Mr S Ball & associates did a fine job on this one, she is indeed lovely. cheers.
 18. Hi all, Up for sale is my EBMM Stingray 4H 3EQ in a very nice sunburst with a black scratch plate and a maple board. The date of birth is 23/01/09 so she’s just celebrated her third birthday. I bought her new on 12/01/11. I’d always really wanted a Stingray; the looks, the tone and the fact that Flea played one culminated in my buying this fine example after a long search for ‘the right one’. The problem (if you can call it that) is that I also own a very nice Fender Jazz USA Deluxe. This has been my ‘go to’ instrument for the past couple of years and I thought that the Stingray would end up taking over this role, but it’s not quite worked out like that. The Jazz was always there; being taken for granted really, but recently I’ve come to realise that, for me, there is no better bass. It just suits my playing style, fits me like a glove and quietly gets on with it (OK maybe not so quietly but you get my drift). Consequently, the Stingray has spent most of her life in her case. In fact, she’s only been played a handful of times. Yes, she looks stunning, plays like a dream and has that classic Stingray tone that many have tried (and failed) to emulate, but the Jazz is still my number one squeeze. As a result, she is now being offered for sale. She is in absolutely mint condition. There is not a mark anywhere. 10/10. She is even still wearing her original strings and there is plenty of life left in them. Schaller straplocks are fitted and the original strap buttons will also be supplied. If Stingrays are your thing then you’ll love this. I’m not looking for trades as I want to put some money into a suspension upgrade to my Kawasaki Z1000 (with a Maxton front fork re-build and a new rear shock). If any of you know anything about bikes, you may know that the Z-thou’s suspension is a bit budget and a quality upgrade is both worthwhile and expensive So, bearing in mind the age and condition of the Stingray, I’m looking for £950 delivered to mainland UK addresses. Yes, this is top money for a Stingray but it really is as new (and Maxton suspension is expensive!). Photos are here. 19. I recently sold my Yamaha TRB 5P II (with a Bubinga top) to Chris and I found him to be an absolute gent. Looking at the photos of this one he has for sale, it looks to be in absolutely mint condition. Chris certainly likes his TRB's and knows how to look after them. During the time I had my TRB, I found it to be an amazing bass that will do anything. The build quality is right up there with the best of them (as it should be for a bass with a list price in excess of £2800). The guys over the pond on Talkbass can't rate them highly enough. Best of luck with the sale Chris and have a bump on me.
