I use GHS brite flats which are ground wound...they are really great sounding strings but to my ears the sound of them drops off a cliff after about a month, at which time they become a little lifeless and muted resonance wise.... I am def still trying to find the perfect string for me, there are just so many!

Awesome.....there is a 4 track EP available of this gig if you like it!.... Question....Was Solomon Dorsey playing with tapewound strings? He had such a wicked sound, I tried them once and remember them having a similar vibe, couldn't make it out for sure in the vid though. Anybody know for sure?

That's kinda cool, but I don't think it sounds especially like an upright, I know that if my upright sounded like that I'd be swiftly changing the EQ on the ol' fishman! Just doesn't have any depth to the sound... Just IMO of course!

I have a beautiful fretless Warwick Thumb bass that never gets played.....mainly cos there is very little call for fretless bass these days! It was customised form me as an 18th Birthday present from my Mum - it had 18 in roman numerals engraved at the 12th fret and blue LED's installed on the side of the neck and on the roman numeral....For that reason it will never be sold, even if it doesn't ever get played again!

Well this seems positive!...payed fo it yesterday evening so all being well will have it sometime next week! Will keep u posted as to how I get on, Thanks for al the comments
