1.
Don't know what all the hype is about...
can i come to dinner around your house please
 2. The john east pre amps offer you a lot of option for cutting and boosting. Unfortunately for me they seem to have ruined every nice bass iv seen them installed on, they are far too artificial sounding and take away any character from the woods. But their great for cheeper basses which lack the wood. +1 on saving up for a MM bass, i thought they were really good, not very versatile but they had a killer jazz tone that was consistent all over the neck
 3. The horns were on the origional record, nothing new from janek. I do however much prefer the fodera's sound. It gives it more edge and impact rather than be too warm like the p bass. I also really like VV browns voice and bought the album after seeing her on jooles holland and im afraid there arnt many good songs on there.
 4.
You'll find a fair selection at Tin Pan Alley in London (a street full of music shops) BUT I wouldn't buy from them - too expensive and rude service. Dawsons in Reading has a reasonable selection - it depends how many you want to try. If you are new to bass I'd always advise playing what you buy as opposed to buying online.
Do you mean denmark street? If so i wouldnt buy from bass cellar but i would have no issues with buying or trying stuff out in wunjos. The guys in there are brilliant and their gear isnt too expensive.
while in london surely The Gallery is worth a visit http://www.thebassgallery.com/
+1, best customer service iv ever had and my favourite shop in the world
 5. The first thing iv noticed when playing a warwick is the good standard in build quality, well compared to fenders. The pickups and pre amp are great, all the hardware works perfectly, and finishes are smooth with no issues. Bad points; some neck dive on my thumb although this isnt a huge problem to me, the sound on the fretted warwicks i played wasnt quite to my taste, the looks are also a love or hate thing
 6. Ashdown ABM combo. ABM was the top end of ashdowns line when this was produced just before the Klystron series were introduced. This combo has a 1x15 speeker and 350 watt Evo II head. The head has the following: Gain, shape selecter, active/ passive button, artificial valve drive, bass, mid, treble and a 4 way graphic equalizer from 180hz to 2.5khz. It also has a sub drive, post eq and volume. The sound is fantasticly warm and you can get a real Jamerson tone with any bass when the valve drive is on. It has an official cover and has rarely been used. Im now looking for just £240 collected from Guildford. email [email protected]
 7. well to be honest guy i had only heard of you from the sophie ellis bexter song murder on the dance floor, but two standard questions for you 1) what has been your favourite moment in your career, can be bass related or not 2) Would you like to buy my ashdown combo? Pm me if you do
 8.
its the sound im after i had a www web shop that when u clicked on the bass it gave the music it played in stiles i carnt finde it for the life of me
I havnt ever seen a website that does that, but if you find a music clip on youtube (maybe a song) that has a similar sound of what you like then we can all suggest basses that will sound like that
 9.
i have been on the web site for my vintage bass but dose not say what my 4 nobs are for and how to use them now 1 of them is the volum
It could either be volume, treble, mid range, bass or if it has two pickips this is more likely, volume, pickup blend, treble, bass
 10.
I love my Epi T-bird it just looks, feels and sounds the part
Maybe theres no such thing as a bad bass? Just a bass that doesnt suit what you want out of a bass. But im sorry johnston, i couldnt play any of the music i wanted to play on it so it went for the ashdown amp, which i dont really like since i got the hartke rig. But thats a whole different topic
 11. Im gonna get some gripe for this, but the epiphone thunderbird i had was useless for everything but the reason i bought it....To look like the origional bassist from The Darkness
 12. seeing all these nice basses you are selling molan, reminds me of going to the carnival when i was a young skipper. Lots of candy! only this is obviously just eye candy
 13.
My ears perk up every time this advert starts on the telly. What song is this? What bass is this? How do I get this lovely tone?!?!
70's p bass, pick and a boss odb3 should do it
 14.
Hi, Im Stephen, Im 19 years old and Im an addict... This is my newly acquired funk/groove/small rig And here is my hairy chest balls out rig with this bass; No longer have the shuttle, it was too small to be rock and roll
Is the fender classic 70's bass? I played on one and it was amazing. The rigs awsome too. Il put some pics up of my stuff when i get a new cab Hurry up hartke and give me a 112
 15.
Not sure - fiver? Can anyone advise?
I sent a nano small stone 2nd class for £2. It got there in 2 working days
 16.
That Coppolo's tone is to die for. Absolutely gorgeous, and so very high in the mix! Wonderful stuff. Is there any way of ripping the audio out of this? I'm having no luck in saving the video file either.
Theres a software you can download for free that copies video and sound off youtube vids and saves it, maybe it can do the same for windows media? Dont know what the softwares called though
 17.
Thanks for that. This is what he says: "My gig pedals include a 70s Mutron, 70s Bass Balls, EH Micro Synth, Boss Octave, Bass Flanger, MXR Driver and Auto Q."
sounded abit like a bassballs in the solo, cant tell the difference between all them filters though
 18. The 90's stingrays are really amazing value for money. Usually on here for £6-700. Having said that went all out for a new one instead of a sub and its the best decision iv ever made
 19.
i tried that and it saves as a tiny .asx file less than ikb in size. I am on my brothers stupid computer and it wont let me do anything in 'guest' mode. If i just click it it starts up in windows media player. any way of saving it in that ? Can anyone help ?
thats the same file as iv got, and it works fine for me :S
 20. Im in the market to buy my first double bass and i saw that thwaites in watford had a few in my price range. Anyone had any dealings with them or know anything about them?
 21. Yes i saw that, it must be an amazing bass because when i saw them he had his 66 jazz bass next to him and he never touched it. Maybe one day when im touring
 22.
Top stuff! Is it possible to download this into Windows Media Player?
yes, when clicking on the link, right click and click save target as
 23.
I don't plug my studio PC into the net - just an idea.
A technician found that the sources of the viruses on this laptop were from windows wordpad and windows movie maker. They had been embeded before i bought the laptop and from looking on google im not the only person who has suffered because of vista.
 24. The 55-02 i played on was a very pleasent bass, ok to play on, not a bad feel, good build quality. But that was it. I like my stingray because it has a beefy neck and it really barks when you dig in, the p bass is like an old man in an armchair and delieveres a really warm sound, the warwick is like a smooth criminal, really crisp sound. The 55-02 for me, was like an accountant, a bit dull. (no offence to accountants)
