1. Just regarding a good slap tone its all in you..... but these i find help you breath more openly 1) Any half decent bass, well set up. 2) New roundwound strings ( not that it matters but i get a great sound with d'addario nickel wound 40, 60, 80,100) 3) SWR Redhead. Its all Personal taste but for me i like the redhead. i have a tried allsorts of amps i still have my trusty T.E. Ah350 but compaired to the swr its slow in the attack and abit clonky sounding. Also if you want that sound in the studio the swr nails it, It has a studio quality pre out so you can use the valve preamp right into the desk, im so impressed with this i have one for gigging and one set up in the studio perminently wired up set up ready to use. I remember seeing these on big stages with marcus, iv also known people to take the redhead amp out of the 2x10 combo, mount it in custom rack box and take a 4x10 cab, they like it that much. Another not very much talked of amp now that was also very quick loud and clear as a bell was the Peavey Megabass digital amp 200 + 200 with freq crossover, with the right Megabass cab 1x15 + 2x8 bi ampable, it could kick, not a valve preamp but killer sound,
 2. can only speak from my own past problems, when ever i have had midi ( and audio to digi recording) snap crackle and pops its usualy been down to clock errors either midi, smpte, MTC, mmc or a combination error. my system has to bo clocked right or i get that popping resulting is what i call static spikes in the recording is the only way to describe it, in the past iv had it down to a crap BNC connector (the middle pin being too thin to contact... Cheap EBAY BNC connectors! dont do it) that took a while ! ! )) anyway... hope this helps... 3.
Funkgod, I want to keep it in the bag to be honest. Especially if i have a rack tuner above it. I would like to put the Mac Pro on top also.
ah right, i just use mine to cart it about, yea if you need to add anything, and want to keep it in then as said you could add 1u for breathing space, pending what amp you use
 4. dont screw it in ! A normal rack is not too bad, but rack bags! it like wrapping a quilt around it, it protects it in transit, but if you leave the amp in and turn it on, then its going to heat up. i know some amps like the swr the metal case is a part of the cooling system in that the heat sinks are bolted to it to help dissipate the heat away from the transistors, if you go wrapping it in protective padding, and then turn it on !, for the sake of 10 seconds at a gig, take it out the bag and let it breath as intended.
 5.
I had a Gator GRB 3U and my only complaint was that the handle has a reasonably fat tube in to make it more comfy to hold which means it sits on top of cabs at a bit of a tilt.
Hi Bub, I have Soft Gator 2u for my trusty swr sm500, but its not screwed in so at a gig i just take it out, it helps keep it cool. Its a good case.
 6.
I've received a PM from Marions who sell an aguilar db680 for less of the half of the value and after he indicates me this page as his page of feedback as albinokiller .... He said to call Mario Salopek from Spain but the marions is indicated as a guy from croatia, does anyone has better infos to this guy ? His email is [email protected] Thanks
If someone has been conned should report him to google as using an email account for the purpose of defraud, they will terminate the account and can ban his IP address from opening another. Also im sure i read somewhere they can use the IP address to help Identify him, for possable prosecution if someone was to persue it, Also they would have an account of all his/her emails so im guessing can also contact all the people he has conned thats if he is dumb enough to use his own home IP address ! 8.
So a depping sax player isn't allowed a stand, must learn the whole set off by heart possibly for a one of gig perhaps £50-100?
unless its a dep ( edited post)
 9.
Besides being abysmally uncool, music stands usually screw up any photos you may take of the band that try to show anyone that's not the frontperson. Fie, fie, fie!!!!!!!
I agree ...no stands on stage, (edit... Unless its a dep player, or a big band type ) i run a 13 piece funk band with a 5 piece brass section. When people come to see you, they want to be entertained. for my band.. when you have 5 stands ( for brass) on stage, that blocks out half the stage as bluejay says this messes up the view for everyone, and looks bad. I have found Brass players are Lazy musicians ...period, and if you let them get away with it they will opt for dots because they dont have to learn the songs, this looks pants, no one wants to look at players staring at notes it dissociates them from the audience and the band, as they are not interacting with the band or the audience, they are slaves chained to whats infront of them. so i reckon its the same for rock bands, Dont forget we are there to entertain, someone could take a photo at anytime and bluejay will capture you forrrreeeveerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr................ . . you dont want to look like you are not enjoying yourself, do you. shoe gazers look crap no matter how good they are, so do people staring at stands.
 10. He was at the Love Supreme Jazz,Funk and Soul Festival near Brighton last weekend. hiding it all under his cap here ya go....
 11. I love the look of it, when John Entwistle's came up for auction i missed it because i was away and got my dates wrong and so mike G snapped that up for what i consider quite cheap, i really did want that one .....BUGGER.. not to hang on the wall but to use ( if it played well)... ahhh welll my wal is battered now from getting on 30 years of abuse and it still looks sounds and plays great so im looking at this one and thinking yea i could use that i would not be too bothered about getting it scratched or marks here and there as it looks well used already. But.... i cant afford this one right now so thats me out, a shame but if i had the cash free yea i would be right in there, and playing it at my next gig and on my up and coming vid, now that would of looked really cool. Dream on
 12. A year ! yea that was quick. "His solo album 'Fish out of Water' gets regular play time on my turntable. " its funny during that time when all yes members were doing their solo projects, the one i thought was the best was alan whites Ramshackled for lots of reasons, the bass playing by colin Gibson is top draw and just perfect for that LP a credit to colin http://alanwhite.net/album/ramschackled/ anyway... "Personally I also rate Drama although a lot of Yes fans disown that album due to it featuring Trevor Horn on vocals instead of Jon Anderson." I did too after a few bad albums from yes this seemd to have direction, i caught trevor singing on that tour at deeside leisure centre. i thought he did a great job, big boots to fill and all that.
 13. gulp....... im now looking at fake death insurance.... im going to guess this will go to the usa as im sure if mike G sees it, it will be gone. 15.
Yeah but all my songs just sound like I've nicked a load of stuff from other people and fitted it together. A bit like a sonic collage.
Yep mine too... but, and here is the big.. but...... to everyone else who listens they dont know who that combination of people are they might pick out a bit in one of your songs, as we all do when something reminds us of something, Just keep going, you will find you.
 16.
I think it depends whether you are just a player or if you write as well. If you don't write then there's probably little difference from a playing PoV.
yep that it a nutshell. Iv been harping on for years.... The best advice i can give and the best you will EVER get.... is this "Learn to write songs no matter how basic," for this one big reason.... everyone eventually finds their groove, and it will be a combination of two things.. your ability and your influences. Everyones are different, ..thats what makes music so intresting. your very own combination could be the next big thing. you will never know unless you try it, or .... all that DNA reciepe ONLY YOU have will be lost... forever. Inspired ? ? get ya pen out and stop Pi@@in about.
 17.
He didnt mention the Wukka Wukka setting?
No ,but im sure he would know exactly what you are on about, my qtron is more of a quack quack setting, but my boss is more of a cow cow sound or flipped to woc woc but im after a more Bwow Bwow sound we do a track by nils landgren called "da fonk" the closest i can get to magnum coltrane price's sound is with the 3 knobed qtron but still would love the sound will lee had on that track, its fatter sounding. Cheers Will. so ...mystery solved, it was one of these.... iv got the sniffer dogs out now.. 21. I had 2 of these, They have built in quality wheels So easy to get about, I don't think yours are a matched pair tho, did you get them separately ? a bit empty in the mid but great if you like a flat base but the top end is a bit flappy But for what they are I thought they did the job well and were wheely wheely good
 22. Ahhh sorry, i dont know ? but want to, im going to guess its a Mutron first made in 72 and according to wiki was the first env filter. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mu-tron could not have been a dr q as that came out in 76 one year later than the Lp the mxr filter was 76 but there was a systech in 75, ?? and it was made in the USA, ..mmmmmmm some info and dates here.. http://www.pedalarea...ope_filters.htm iv always wondered what it was... Im tempted to send an email
 23. great version of cissy strut. here is a bit of a largly unknown rare treat for yall im a big deodato fan he always uses great bass players, so you know your in for a treat. will lee played on his Lp "first cuckoo" from the mid 70s ( very rare on cd) i dont think it was ever released on cd tho have seen a jap import of it for a stupid amount of cash. ( if you have a CD copy please let me know ) great wah bass, ( just great bass on the whole lp) so the question is.. what is he using ? enjoy, https://www.youtube....h?v=2jpTaVWhVis
 24. Easy.. Pick both up and play them. One will ( if you are very lucky) say ... yes I like you. You will know it's right when it talks back to you. The problem is knowing when this happens, I hear loads on here saying "I'm sorry I ever let that one go" They know it after a long time of looking for the same thing They had their chance and may never find it again, no amount of cash will ever find that again. It's a connection thing,
 25. Over the years I have found these to be my main reasons. 1, cash 2, ammitur attitudes 3, listening to time wasters learn the songs in the practice room, 4, sh!t drummer. 5, character clashes 6, no future 7, no control over playing, guitar always on 11, drummer leathering his kit. 8, stale set no longer fun to play. 9, no gigs, practicing forever. 10, better band offer.
