  1. … if the MXR works well let us know if you want to move it on. I seem to be collecting compressor pedals at the mo (also have a Cali 76 CB 👍🏼)
  2. Hey all, I recently bought a Keeley Bassist Limiting Amplifier from Martin. It took me a few days to test it, and unfortunately there was an issue with it (some LED audio distortion when going from above to below the threshold). I searched on here to see if I could shed any light on this and found a thread describing the issue. I forwarded this onto Martin and asked if I could return it for a refund, he no quibble refunded me the money which I am very grateful to him for. He also said I could keep the unit if wanted, I double checked this and he was still happy for me to do so 👍. So all in, a bit of a disappointment with the pedal, however a good conclusion to the episode from a very generous and kind hearted BCer. Thank you.
  3. Zombie feedback thread revival ha ha 🤖 👍🏼 Just bought a MXR 282 comp from Ewen. Well packaged and as described in the advert. Great comms and a trusted BCer. Would happily deal with again. Peace.
  4. Hey all, I travelled down to see Joe to try, and then buy his refurbished Zoot Funkmeister 5. A pleasant deal, two cups of great coffee and a good chat were also included 😁 Would recommend this BCer with no problems 👍🏼 Cheers.
  5. ... just bought a Sfx Microthumpinator off John, well packaged, excellent comms and a fair price. Would deal with again no problem at all. Thanks.
  6. please remove thank you.
  7. ... love the fact you can adjust without bending down, clattering some part of your bass in the process and tweaking your back haha!!!
  8. ... I've been looking at my 'collection' of late and turning away from them also. I even thought of doing the same and packing them up and see what I'd want to actually use! However I also would probably regret selling anything as it'd give me less options in the future, but you get overwhelmed by having the options ... and the cycle continues 🤔😐😁!!
  9. ... could I ask please what the signal chain will be?
  10. ... the velcro acts fine when sliding in and out. There is a bit of a step between the two layers, but you can just space the pedals to compensate for it, or double up the velcro on one side of a pedal if you need to go over the join. I also prefer the single rail boards I think, and the XPND works really well in that department. The bag is expensive for what it is, so you could consider getting a Pedaltrain Nano Max, keeping the bag and selling the board to get a decent bag for less ha ha!! For a PSU the Cioks DC 7 I think just squeezes under there (check you tube for what it looks like). I'm currently using a daisy chain with mini pedals and for a quick pedal change around if needed it's great.
  11. ... what's the Omnicabsim clone like folks? If there was a pedal I wouldn't mind trying to build it'd be one of those!
  12. cheers for the reply, I'll contact Empress as the signal isn't hot tbh. May be a fault in the unit!!
  13. yeah, it's a cracker for the brass isn't it 👍
  14. ... how do you find the Empress compressor? I've one and seem to be able to get a pretty decent distortion/overdrive sound when I have both the Attack and Release controls fully counter clockwise. Really not sure it it's supposed to do that though ...
  15. + 1 for small board setups. I'm planning a big home build board and starting to second guess myself on it now ha ha!!
  16. Joe Hubbard has a Functional Harmony book that is pretty interesting https://www.joehubbardbass.com/functional-harmonic-concepts/
