1. Great price but unfortunately I don't do pick guards and can't play like Mr Miller!!
2. Yup, very nice and a good F/S thread, and that J Retro looks the dogs on this
3. Bump again, is this priced too high or just slow market?
4. Just out of interest does it have any tooling holes underneath the pickguard and where is the battery kept? It is one of the better bitsas I've seen to be honest, very nice
5. Hi there, as per forum rules you need to add a trade value, sounds nice though and I hope you make a quick deal
6. Man that is one sweet jazz you have there, are you sure you wanna sell it type bump!!
7. Now sold, please remove this post thanks.
8. Looks great for the money, Les would be proud!!
9. Temporarily withdrawn folks, sorry! Potential buyer has gone quiet so now back up for grabs Hi folks, I know it's a quick turnaround but after playing etc this beauty is wasted on me a bit and at heart I'm a 4 string jazzer. It's a Jon Shuker (http://www.shukerguitars.co.uk/) J 5 with Bartolinis and a John East U-Retro 01 Deluxe preamp (http://www.east-uk.com/) and has a 35 inch scale, this makes the B string ring like a bell!! It weighs about 9.4 Ibs and is well balanced on a strap, All very nice and very well made stuff. I've borrowed the snaps from Ollie (hope you don't mind bud) Now as I'd want everybody to be happy it's collection only, also it avoids any potential damage to this very nice British made bass. There are a few marks here and there so it is definitely in a used condition. I've taken this bass to Jon Shuker since this post originally went up and he has done the following: 1. Replaced the jack socket 2. Earthed the electronics 3. Reworked the bridge saddles and nut to lower the action, much lower now! 4. Set up and fret polish The cost of this work being carried out by Jon is reflected in the new asking price of £725 collected (or £750 with a SKB foam hardcase) Also when speaking to Jon about the bass he told me that this was his first 5 string jazz that he made using this body shape, it's about 10 years old or so and it didn't originally come with the John East preamp or Barts installed. He did however route the battery box for it at a later date! Any trial welcome and I'm based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. NB. Over Christmas I'll be in Reigate, Surrey for a week so could deal from there if need be
10. Just bought the aforementioned Shuker Jazz off Ollie in an easy smooth transaction, also had a cuppa and a chat. Nice guy to deal with and wouldn't hesitate to buy/trade/sell with again, Cheers.
11. How about one of the first Class A transistor amps, the Sugden A21 (Mk1 or Mk2). A pretty good combo when paired with some Heybrook Optimas
12. I bought a BT 2 bass extender from Rich, surprised he didn't have a feedback thread as he has mega posts! All went well and as the item was thoughtfully packaged it all fitted through my front door. Recommended BC'er
13. Badass Jazz there, dig the blocks with lack of frets. Reminds me of , anyhow have a fellow jazz fan bump on me
14. Just traded one of my jazzes for Craig's six string beast. He's happy, I'm happy, everybody is happy . Cheers Craig and wouldn't hesitate to deal with again!
15. Yes it is , cheers Craig and hope you like the jazz! However as I have never played a 6 properly I'll have to see how I get on with one, if I can't do 6 strings it'll be back on here sooner than you can say 'Alan Carrot has too many strings!!'
16. Just bought Ryans couple of month old Mars Musical Instrument preamp/DI/dual input box. Good price, nice comms and posted quickly at extra expense to him, cheers for that. I would recommend him to any BCer to deal with
17. Cheers folks, I'll try and be more careful when I order a new one! Peace
18. Hi folks, Being clever I thought I'd order a new graptech jazz bass nut to replace the one on my Geddy Lee jazz. Reason being is the string spacing on the Geddy nut is wider than my two other jazzes (a bitsa with a Marcus Miller neck and a CIJ '62 RI fretless). However when the new nut arrived it had the same spacing as the Geddy, clever boy hey! Just wondering if anyone knows of any replacement nuts that you can purchase with pre-cut slots the same as on the Marcus Miller basses (and my fretless!). The info I have found so far doesn't go into the individual string spacing, just over dimensions. Any help or comments would be greatly appreciated
