2. Yeah, well done for being in the right place at the right time. A bit of a bargin you have !
3. In the past I've just used a range of coarse to fine abrasive paper and done it by hand!! Takes and while but does do the trick . ps. use a sanding block on the flat surfaces to prevent leaving an uneven finish.
4. Just bought a BT 2 that Gary had contacted me about due to my post in the wanted section. Easy deal and would not hesitate to deal with again, Cheers
5. Just checking but is the truss rod access via the headstock or at the heel? I can't work out if the headstock has a plug in it or a cut out for the truss rod when looking at the photo !
6. It's probably a poly finish tbh. I have just used abrasives and lots of elbow grease to get those finishes down to the wood before!! Nitro finishes do look like a lot less hassle to remove!!
7. Classic bass in a lovely colour bump!!
8. mmm, well since joining BC I've had so many basses on and off the roundabout it amazes me! Err, I've had Warwick, Yamaha, Sandberg, Status basses etc and I now have 4 Fenders (2 jazzes and 2 P basses). Whilst all the other ones on paper have been far superior for some reason or another I seem to always go back to the old faithfuls!! I guess that sound must have been cemented somewhere in my unconscious
9. Thanks for writing the visit up, much appreciated
10. I've just learn it by ear, didn't take too long IIRC! Hey you could always try and transcribe it yourself, probably be a good thing to do myself actually!!
11.
Excellent thread. Thank you all, but specially EBS freak.
+ 1
12.
This looks definitive. I can't imagine anyone arguing with this. Glad that's sorted.
+ 1
13. I guess you could argue what best actually means, it as usual always depends on context, genre etc etc
14. Man, I do really dig these early carved headstock thumbs!! Have a vintage bump on me
15. Hi folks, Just bought a set of Hipshot HB2 tuners from Jas, Cheers and thanks for the deal
16. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/86-Warwick-Streamer-4-string-/271221411101?pt=Guitar&hash=item3f260e4d1d, made me laugh checking the postal options given
17. .... well I'm sure eBay will catch on, sooner rather than later hopefully!!
18. bit like a Kramer sort of
19. I'm really digging the low B on my thumb at the mo, funny thing is I've got 4 passive Fenders in the side lines due to it at the mo !
20. I thought I'd get a reply from yourself !! Yeah it is really odd isn't it. It's not quite a streamer in body shape, has a streamer control layout but with thumb headstock etc, maybe a one-off prototype, I did hear that the first thumbs did indeed have a shorter top horn, whatever it is the asking price seems good for such a rare beast as I doubt there is another one like it !!
21. http://www.ebay.co.u...=item232beae984 Never seen one like that before. I did read somewhere that Thumbs were cut down streamers initially, is this one a 'not cut down' so much one . If it is genuine then it's certainly a piece of history and worth the asking price, however I am interested to know any history of this particular bass, anyone fill me in on this one?
