1. (Please see my other F/S thread for my other one here: http://basschat.co.u...dneck-fretless/ . I'd also take £1245 for both of them together, I would much rather sell them as a pair !) Hi folks, This is my other Warwick Thumb BO 5 Broadneck, but the fretted one! Also AFAIK hard to come buy! As my P bass seems to be fine for me at the moment I'll see if anyone wants to buy this. I bought this from the forum a while back and unfortunately realised it had a few issues when I got home! You can see in one of the pics of the back of the headstock that there had been one split and one crack there. The split (not sure what is was from, but possibly some form of shrinkage) and the crack (most likely it had fallen and hit the tuner, cracking between the tuner hole and the outside of the heastock) have both been fixed by Jon Shuker and have not budged at all in the time I've had it. I did track down the previous owners before the one I got it from and from their memories the tuner crack was definitely there, and hadn't moved since, however I wanted it fixed! The other main issue with the bass is the truss rod/neck. At some point in it's life it had developed a slight S bend in it's neck, the truss rod allen key hole is beyond any practical use now as it's rounded out, however the truss rod does move and is not seized. To help with the action I asked Jon if he could dress the frets so they have been shaped/levelled to take into account the slight neck bend. The action I would describe as on the lower side of medium, I can't get it any lower without major surgery on Jon's part, hence the lower asking price!! The body has a few marks here and there, also the neck has one or two ones as well, they don't affect playing at all. Considering all the above it does however play well and sound nice, not as thick as a Thumb NT 5, think more in the direction of a Streamer Stage 1, at least in my opinion (I've had them both!) It's a German built 2001 year model, the body and neck are Ovangkol and the fretboard is Wenge, the pickups are MEC soapbars with a MEC 2 band bass/treble cut and boost preamp. The nut is an original just a nut 1 and it comes with black Schaller strap locks. The spacing is slightly adjustable and can range from 18 - 20 mm or there abouts. Lastly one of the tuners is a non Warwick branded one, looks the same, just not with the Warwick cap on. I'll include the original one as well, however it doesn't work lol! I'd like £495 for this, it does play great as it is, however as stated above it would probably require some luthier work to get the action properly low, the price reflects this. I'd like this collected from Huddersfield, West Yorkshire only please and I can also include an old Warwick soft case that is came with. Please check the pics out below: It's the one on the right lol! I would much rather sell them as a pair ! 2. Hey folks, Well I've got a P bass and that seems to take care of my bass needs at the moment so I'll see if anyone wants to buy this! I have a German built 2004 Warwick Thumb BO 5 Broadneck unlined fretless. I bought it from this forum a while back and it is in very good condition and AFAIK these are very hard to come by to be honest, A previous owner had a luthier take a skim off the original factory board (I asked how much and about 0.3 mm!) to make is super even and this results in the action being very low. The body and neck are ovangkol, the board is ebony (with dots on the side of the neck in the correct fretless position). The neck has a fairly flat profile and feels pretty slim considering it's a broadneck version. It also has MEC soapbars and the spacing is slightly adjustable and can range from 18 - 20 mm or there abouts. The preamp is an MEC 2 band bass/treble cut and boost and it comes with a set of black Schaller strap locks. There is a little bit over glue overspill that happened when a previous owner installed the just a nut 3. There are also a couple of very small marks here and there but they are very minimal, the bass is really in good condition. I'd now like £? with the bass collected from Huddersfield, West Yorkshire only please. I'll also include a Warwick soft case. Please see pics below: See in the above picture the overspilled glue both sides of the truss rod cover. 3. I asked a few questions about one I bought used off here (no 125 Olymic white over sunburst P bass with Heavy relic, actually the one at the start of this thread!) and he always responded fairly quickly. AFAIK when I asked him if you wanted a custom order you'd need to add about £100 to the normal price. After I set mine up to my personal preferences it plays really nicely with a very low action
4. I've signed up. I work it out about £5 per month, not bad at all if I actually use it lol!
5. I was always a die hard jazz bass fan and wasn't really up for P basses at all. I now have one and no jazzes, times change I guess!
6. I think I had a hand in this one! If it is the same then here is a pic of it Peace
7. I find a little memory tool useful, the number 7 is key! If you've got the Key of E Major (has 4 #s), the flat version. EbMajor would have 3 b (4 + 3 = 7). Another example could be D Major, this key has 2 #, so DbMajor would have 5b (2 + 5 = 7 etc etc). I guess you'd at least have to know some of this before anyhow for it to be of any use!
8.
... because it's earlier than practicing.
++1!!
9. Or search for Vulfpeck Beastly on YT and the dude playing the bass has a PJ P bass with what looks like the stacked pot control pots for early jazzes. He has them on the P bass pick guard so he can have a volume/tone set up for each pickup whilst retaining the jack location, nifty idea!
10. Great bass and your collection (on picture link) is fantastic, I'm flabergasted type bump!
