1. Yeah, we have a gig tonight. Not far to travel so should be ok. Snow forecast later tonight tho!
2.
I thought I'd make a start and if it catches on an admin could make it a sticky of it over the holiday period. You know what it's like, you need to learn a few xmas tunes to throw in at the end of a gig and don't want to go trawling through web sites yourself so how about we make a list of links or post scans of sheet music of our xmas faves so we have a quick resource here on basschat? Probably my all time fave is the Slade classic so here is what looks like a pretty accurate bass tab for that one: Merry Christmas Everybody (Slade) http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/tabs/s/slad...y_ver2_btab.htm
Just learnt this to play at our xmas gigs, its a good bass line to play, should be fun!
3. Best of luck with the sale, this is an item of great beauty! Gorgeous!
4. I've found Basschat great for buying gear, I would rather trust a fellow bass player on here with good feedback than someone unknown on evilbay! I have so far bought a Fender P bass, a Spector 5 string and a markbass head and korg tuner from people on here and they have all been great quality and great to do business with.
5.
I strongly recommend checking out Silverstone covers. They made me a zip around cover for my cab and it was a one off. Sent them measurements, job done. The reason they are worth checking out is that they use a thick padded material which really protects your gear as oppose to the usual thin slip over stuff. I've not seen an other brand who make them so substantial as these ones. Google them and you should get them, worth a look a least.
+1 for Silverstone. Got a cover for my Markbass 4x10 cab and it is really good quality, great fit and well padded.
6. Been listening to a lot of Dead Kennedy's lately, god they were great, don't you think? The "Lost sessions" videos on youtube of the "In god we trust" sessions are superb. Love Klaus Flouride's playing, pity they fell out with Jello.
7. They look great! Must say Im tempted to try a set!
8. Bought Col's Spector ReBop 5 string Bass. Excellent communication and a pleasure to deal with, transaction went as smooth as silk, bass packaged very well and secure. Thanks Col!
9. "One last soul" by Black Country Communion, awesome song that hopefully we will be adding to our set! Recently learned intro to "The Glass Prison" by Dream Theater too.
10.
So you did like the strings on my old Deluxe P?
Absolutely love them! So much I bought a set and put them on my Jazz bass as well, so I guess I need to say thanks! Lovin' the deluxe P by the way, so easy to play.
11. We, (King for a day) played at the King's Head in Blyth last night. 1st time the venue has had a live band on in a long time I believe. Strange kinda night, we played pretty well, place was near empty at times and busy at other times, so hard to gauge. We enjoyed ourselves anyway, played 2 songs we haven't played live before, "feeling good" (in Joe Bonemassa style) and "runnin' down a dream" (Tom Petty), both went well. Quite a few young 'uns came in later on before going into the "jumpin' jax" night club upstairs, they seemed to enjoy it, apart from one attractive young lady who sat with her fingers in her ears! A few said we were "too loud" Oh well, can't please everyone, it is rock music after all!
12. Great! Hope it goes well, I myself have just got back into gigging after a break of about 20 years, Im lovin' it!
13. Using TI Jazz flats at the moment and love them.
14. We (King for a day) played at The Royal Tavern in Blyth last night, enjoyable gig, 1st set we weren't very tight and made a some mistakes, 2nd set I thought we played well. Got re-booked anyway and some nice comments, so I guess we must have been ok!
15. Saw him at The Sage in Gateshead on monday night. 1st time I have seen "The voice of rock", must say he was superb, what a voice! Great bass playing too! Looked like an old Precision to these eyes, he did have a drop "D" tuner on it. Thought the support act, Scott McKeon, was great too.
16. At the moment it's "Tie your mother down" by Queen. Love playin' it.
17. Band I play in (KING FOR A DAY, formerly full bottle) played Saturday night at a local bar. Not many in, but got some great feedback from those that were there. We all enjoyed the gig anyway! Here is a link to a clip from the gig - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2tGXRljdP1E

19.
I think there's a Dead Kennedys song along similar lines...
Would that be "Dog bite, on my leg, not right, supposed to beg" lol! great stuff!!!
