  1. Just read a review on talkbass (pinch of salt I know) on the EHB1000. Lad said if you play any music post 1950/1960s, then BH2 pickups aren't for you. Dissapointing as you'd want ultra modern pickups in a headless multiscale surely? maybe I'll go for SR2400
  2. Class. Enjoy the sire. Kinda want one.
  3. It is that. Great instruments, even the standard series.
  4. Ah I'll cross that bridge... Guy makes custom basses and notdstrand style pups so we'll work something out. Bass is ash so nice ash blocks would fill it in.
  5. Ok My guy might need to do bit of routing?
  6. Probs Woody. I'm in Ireland. Just bought big singles on reverb. €136 incl shipping and VAT.
  7. Ooof, €800, bargain if I had the cash😭 https://reverb.com/item/39210062-ibanez-sr5000-ol-electric-bass
  8. Ok will pick up some big singles, tell tech to run passively and drop them in. Thanks
  9. Forgive the ignorance but can big singles be run passively with the same aggression? I'm thinking either Glock/EMG/darkglass preamp and labour could be too expensive @PaulThePlug its 2 position mid switch.
  10. Yeah definitely want aggressive sound. Thanks will have a look
  11. Thanks man. Will look at zen blades.
  12. Guys, My Sr600 is dead. PCB dead, active preamp needs replacement. I can either go passive or go for new preamp. Sr600 is 3 band with master and pickup blend. Always wanted to put big singles in bass but now preamp/labour could be very expensive. Luthier is saying he can do glockenklang preamp and like the look of darkglass tone capsule. What other options do I have?
  13. Thanks Cosmo yeah I'm not even that arsed on selling it. I thought I would get full Geddy grunt and grind with vintage but probably should have went b3k.
  14. I had the darkglass too, too polite for me, think B3K or B7K would be meatier. I have a hardwire CM2 if your'e interested, basically like a Pork Loin and retains the low end. £55 posted. I use it for Muse style stuff. Zoom B1 Four has few class overdrives. I have a demo on youtube on bass (hardwire CM2 user: Michael Mclaughlin)
  15. Delano's and decent preamp. still saving about 700 quid ish
  16. The tree P is pretty cool. Be handy for Rush covers.
  17. @Al Krow sorry for the GAS! I want one too. They only do the 4 string as part of a beginners bundle though. Weird.
  18. This thread just makes me want a sr1200. They dont make em like they used too......
