    Price please. I have one too. I was told they were originally costed out at £2K each! May be far fetched. Mine was sold as ex Clayton rig. He must have had different rigs as mine is configured the same with each pair of ten's offset whereas your U2 link has them aligned uniformly, albeit in an 'ASS410' extra wide cab. Where is your cab located?

    I'm a bit surprised by this thread. Give the guy a break. Anyone who knows about bass knows the superfly. The retro glide version is well known. If anyone is serious to buy then buy. The seller can provide provenance to serious buyers. The £6.7K king bass is an anomaly because it was a charity auction. I have one of the 42 jazz basses. While it is the poorest made of my basses the comparison is a bit unfair. It is still a great bass with an interesting provenance and cool SiMS! Go and make some music guys. Sorry to whinge! Big love to all

    The Alembic F-1X is incredibly pure and either full range or biamped with nice crossover adjuster it sounds very sweet. Best used with an Alembic. £350 is a fair and correct price for stunning kit. New around £900 or a grand. In conjunction with superfilter SF2 even more possibilities but standalone awesome too. It does depend on what you are playing through it a bit though.

    oh yeah - it does! Mark (King gave me two sets in 1989) and I never looked back. They lack bottom end but the flexibility is unbelievable. I can't use anything else now - it just feels so heavy and inflexible. impossible to create dynamics like Mark (or Stanley) with heavy strings...

Alembic Stanley Clarke standard - gorgeous quilted maple - 1997 phenominal to play Fender Jazz deluxe - one the 42 Mark King series with blue SIMS Zon Sonus custom with spectacular spalted maple top - amazing bass Effects by TC Electronic - G system - stunning quality... Amps:- MK500 with Alembic super filter (SF-2) in front for phenomenal clarity! Alembic F1X tube pre through Ashdown PM1000 power - biampable with crossover (ex Adam Clayton power) into ex Adam Calyton ASS410 Ashdown ba & big ben 19" sub... wow! MArk bass F500 - wow! GK MB150E III head - great chorus! Trace AH150 - for retro memories! Ashdown Bentley bass cabs (410 & 15) & 210 bass monitor ala MK Mesa Boogie diesel road ready 15 - lush sound and good for parking amps on at home! Ashdown MINI 48 - beaut to look at - sounds great at home - can't cope with fender rumble... GK 115LB - ultra compact cab.

    Hard to put into words, I know, but what do these speakers, together, sound like with JJ head? I have MK500. Do neo's sound different to 'trad' Ashdown cabs?
