1. How many basses can you play at one time?

3.
Neither items weigh a lot so I'd not reckon on any more than £10... it may be as little as a fiver. Organising your own might be tricky as I can't have stuff collected from work at the moment but not impossible. Cheers John
OK, I'm in - if you can work out the postage and pop me a PM that would be great.
4. I'm interested in the Behringer. Any idea on postage cost? Otherwise I can probably organise a collection by a courier company.

6. As standard the ASATs have the 1.5" nut width neck (that you can also get US L2000s in, you know). However, I did see a special order ASAT with the 1.75" nut width on eBay once.
7. That black one is lovely, innit. You'd be lucky to find a black bridge for it though - though the early (i.e. 83 ish) were black. For those who don't realise, the ASAT has exactly the same electronics and pickups as the L2000, so it's just the body shape that is different. More ASAT porn Rare 5 stringer: I'm sure I saw the bass player with Cat Stevens playing a sparkly ASAT 5er when he did that BBC session a little while ago. Sparkly Speechless
8. Not many in the UK, and they're going up in value as they are starting to be recognised for what they are - a Leo era classic. They're fetching around $800-$1000 in the US now - 3 years ago you could have one for $400ish. However, the BadAssBassPlayers forum is organising a Limited Edition reissue of the L1000 with G&L at the moment - so is a rare opportunity to get a new one!
9. I was gassing for one of those Ibanezes (either in 4 or 5 string) for a good while, but have decided to go for a Godin A4 instead. Couldn't find many/any reviews on them, but the general impression I got was that they were pretty nice (I know someone who has played one of the guitars in that range, and was very impressed). There are a couple of UK stores that seem to stock them, so may be worth a trip to try?
10. Ah, must be the lights' reflections. Nice touch to have the pan knob
11. Hard to tell from the photos, but it looks like the body might be finished in the discontinued Red Swirl, like mine. If so, it's not a refin. Here's mine (a pig to photograph properly)
12. I had a thought a few days ago... A couple of these at £3.49 each) plus some lighting gels equals dirt cheap rear colour wash. What do you reckon? Wouldn't want them pointing at me, but directed up the wall behind the drummer - and especially if we rig them to a dimmer to control the intensity - I reckon they might work OK.
13. Washburn AB10 is the only other one I can think of - tend to go for around £200 secondhand.
14. I've always wondered - if you go in-ear, then presumeably the whole band needs to do it, and all instruments need to be miked up and going through the PA. IS that the case?
15.
I've got a platform that I made using the same foam used on the Gramma boards (and when I finally get my ass into gear, I've got to make another one... ahem  ). Perfect for hollow stages, stops any complaints dead in their tracks.
Do tell - what is the foam used, then?
16.
Hi Inca, I think Steve Lawson is in Herne Hill if you are able to get there, http://www.stevelawson.net/wordpress/bass_tuition/
Steve is a fantastic teacher - well worth it if you can get to him.
17. We use a Kustom PA amp similar in design to that "all in one" Meridian thing, and for practices it's absolutely fine - even with a couple of mismatched speakers (I picked the PA up on eBay dirt cheap without its speakers). Not much control on EQ, so feedback might be an issue, depending on how loud you practice.
18.
Who's the pr1ck in the dress?? Hate these c*nts who try so hard to be quirky. We should be waterboarding them, not the shoe bombers.
Says the topless bloke in the red beret.
19. Not much help but I've seen pics of those before - the side scallops look very familiar. I'm sure one of the japcrap experts will be along soon...
20. Maplin have the 8 light pack on for £50 again. Looks like no one has entered this thread's info into the wiki.
21. Wow, that does make a difference. Quality option is that little TV screen icon to the right of the "Views: 222" thing. Looks like the squashed thing is because it was uploaded that way, unfortunately - you probably have to jigger the source file first to letterbox it before upload.
22. Barry Palmer is now working at Giggear in Harlow - and a fine job he does too. Had my bass set up by him, and one of the guitarists had a fretdress and setup from him, which he's delighted with.
23. Some good ones!
Peavey is ex bassist of Man. not exactly fame...
Man are a great band! Saw them a couple of years ago at a tiny venue (Walkern sports hall). Brilliant. And if it was Martin Turner's bass, then nice one - though he mainly uses a Thunderbird I think - saw him with his reincarnation of Wishbone Ash recently (funnily enough at the same Walkern venue as we saw Man). Martin Turner was one of the reasons I got turned on to bass.
My G&L was owned (and made for) jerry donahue of the hellecasters
Nice one - I know Gerry's used to be a G&L endorsee for the ASAT guitar, at least. A rather good guitarist.
24. Here's some pics. I should say that I've had a PM from a likely buyer, so they have first dibs. Must admit I'm having second thoughts about selling, as there's absolutely nothing wrong with it at all. Bone nut You can just see the glitch along the join between fretboard and neck. Action currently nice and low with the TI flats Couple of marks on the back - I haven't tried, but I'm sure these would buff out (just had a look - the photo makes them looks worse than they are - they're surface only) Couple of tiny dings in the back of the headstock
25. Why not keep it, pull the villex circuit and sell it, and get yourself a stock set of P pickups to go in there instead?
