It's also worth noting that that RH750 costs over £200 more than the RH450. You have to ask yourself what exactly you're paying the extra for.
About 1.5dB??

This was TC's response doc when bassgear started all the fuss a while a back that demonstrates how they rate their amps and manage the power to achieve volume. Pretty interesting, although took me a couple of reads in places to understand http://www.tcelectronic.com/media/914735/tc_electronic_bass_amp_power_rating___active_power_management.pdf

Cab question - Ashdown Mag 410T deep + second or ABM410H
Salt on your Bass? replied to tommania's topic in Amps and Cabs
I would go mag every time on ashdown cabs. Had abm 410t, it was ok. Had mag 115 and 210 deep and they were ok. The power handling doesn't have a great deal of meaning on cabs. Mags are great for the price, I cant see what the abms offer over them. -
What is it about the tone of the 750 that makes it so good? Genuine question as I'm revisiting my head in about 12 months time and have been curious about this head for a while but not been anywhere that stocks.

Ron Burgundy: Boy, that escalated quickly... I mean, that really got out of hand fast. Champ Kind: It jumped up a notch. Ron Burgundy: It did, didn't it? Brick Tamland: Yeah, I stabbed a man in the heart. Ron Burgundy: I saw that. Brick killed a guy. Did you throw a trident? Brick Tamland: Yeah, there were horses, and a man on fire, and I killed a guy with a trident. Ron Burgundy: Brick, I've been meaning to talk to you about that. You should find yourself a safehouse or a relative close by. Lay low for a while, because you're probably wanted for murder.

Is there any real benefit going this route? At 8 ohms, the Amp offers up around 500 watts, so 250 per cab. It seems a lot of gear to carry for what would be a negligible(?) up lift in volume - although I guess you'd havunie much mire solid lows.(?) Have you tried slaving your power Amp from your streamliner at all as a possible solution?
We both agree that trying to play bass in the vicinity of sub sonic frequencies is going to sound(?) awful!
I guess that's because you'll go out of time with the rest of the band - what with the note moving faster than sound.....

+1 to the above. or buy another streamliner!!

I rehearsed and gigged mine thurs/fri. Owned Gen 2 compacts and midgets. This cab is great on first impression. With my ashdown ABM, fuzz, distortion, wah and meatbox, it kicks out great defined lows, very loud responds to the eq and is an absolute joy. It handles sub really well and I do have the horn switched on which is unusual for me, but it adds a nice bit of bite. Also makes the load easy. I play doom for reference. looking forward to playing more with it!!

Played our first gig last night in my new doom band. We were supporting and my gig started by literally running round Bedford to try and locate a Mic lead which a band in another pub were kind enough to lend on trust. So legged it back, followed by a 15 second line check with my new cab and away we went. Gig went very well and my new barefaced cab performed fantastically. I've never sweated so much before playing though, or started a gig quite so out if breath!!

Does anyone know how lpf/hpfs on amps would effect the output of this pedal through a rig? I assume the amp would nullify what this pedal is aiming to do for the benefit of power efficiency? Is that right??

This fender fits the bill as well - depending on funds. Based on the old sunn following fender take over... http://basschat.co.uk/topic/189481-fs-fender-tb-1200-amp-head-l550/page__fromsearch__1 I quite fancy giving it a go but funds don't allow presently. Also like the peavy stuff, and rocking an abm ii at the mo. -

I think it is about managing expectations. I'm waiting for my pre-order big twin 2 and when it arrives it'll be fine. Alex is pretty good on emails but the continued marketing during long waits is rather infuriating at times with the likes of Facebook. Comms just need to be clear and consistent. Maybe as they run batches then there could be a series of standard emails about where your order is in terms of completion. Obviously a successful business though presently and like I say all will be forgotten when it arrives.

Check out bassfuzz.com some good demos and you'll get an idea what you do and don't like. I have an Sfx micro fuzz presently. Like the look of the tarkin though.... Buy second hand move it on at no loss if you don't like it.

So I ran it out last night at rehearsal and wow! Even though it was only through a hartke 15 combo, it adds a mother load of punch, and loads of bass presence which is great when the guitar goes off on a solo to keep a real massive sound going. Really happy, nee to refine the settings but very impressed with it
-
Yeah, every little is useful thanks. Got a rehearsal tonight - using house kit - so not sure if I should put it anywhere near this pedal as I really don't want to wreck a cab. Next pa supported gig is in jan - interesting to try and find settings Ahead of gigging it. Had assurance from Alex the big twin will be fine with it so see how it fairs a week Friday, if the cab arrives.
-
Sounds pretty nice - I doubt ill be able to afford it to try it out though, and have to wait til they start being rolled second hand. I fully expect this to be the best fuzz ever for at least a few months....
-
Thanks guys, that's most useful. Looking forward to running it Any setting preferences are welcomed. I'm off to buy a power supply!
-
Thanks Si, yeah, basics first! I managed to coax some additional tones out of this so getting there, but yeah live will be best - just waiting for my big twin 2 to arrive to give it a run out.

hmmmm - maybe I should get a fresh battery....cause when full wet is on, its pretty crackly and LoFi...like mega lofi...hmmm
