5. Hi all need some help / advice, I Am currently playing electric bass professionally and want to expand my employability by becoming proficient at upright also but know very little about the instrument so I need suggestions for a 1st Upright purchase (acoustic or EUB) something that is a decent instrument to learn on but will also not break the bank. I am willing to spend up to £1000, maybe a little over. Is there anyone with experience that can make some suggestions as to what quality of instrument i can get for that money and what to look at / where to buy for best deals? Thanks in advance!
6. can i vote even though i took part? not gonna vote for my own obviously lol
7. nice work with the bass line, how ever i find the transcription difficult to read due to the groupings used
8. Waves - very good use all sorts from them mainly reverbs, compression, EQ, vocal mixing but other things as well Fab Filter - EQ & compression and some great filters delays also some good synths I second Skol on Izotope i use Ozone 5 its an amazing tool! Also a big fan of massive, absynth & fm8 by NI anotherr great synth is Sylennth1 - lenar digital
9. Michael manring, it's soo sweet and buttery clean! Not useful for gigging with a band but as a solo tone is great! Check out a track he does called the enormous room http://youtube.com/watch?v=aY4Ra2KOyas
10.
Impressive! It always amazes me how people find some subtle nuance that I completely overlooked and strip it down and tighten it all back up agan love it!
Thanks, yeah as you can see I wanted to completely change style and upped the tempo quite abit, I think I took it too far with the heavier synth part I made, I created that part because I was struggling to cut up the vocals to make a chorus sounding part that suited the style I was going for. After that I sort of ran out of ideas in terms of where to with the piece and how to end it so I'm not too happy with the arrangement I used for the second half because of time constraints, but it's all good fun and I all ways learn new things every time I do something like this! For me the thing I like to focus on the most is the sound quality of what I'm creating as much as the material so I spend a lot of time playing with plugins to try and achieve what I want but can never get to the 'industry' standard of quality in my sounds but maybe one day
11. but it was fun, thought i would add that!
12. got it finished rushed through it this morning to complete what i had already done so not really a great arrangement and not a lot of time to work on actual sounds, mixing or mastering i did a quick bit of each (not that i really know how to) lol. I feel like have committed a bit of a crime with what i have done to this song, it did not really turn out how i planned! https://soundcloud.com/simplexsounds/october-remix-bc
13. i played on a lot of there recent models regularly and my experience is that the combos are not good. the LH amps sounds good, the HA are not so bad as well but take abit longer to get an appropriate 'sound' i think. not tried the KILO. I have tried these with the Hydrive, AK and XL cabs. out of the the 3 the AK was the best for me, i felt they have a much warmer sound when compared with the same LH or HA head rather the bite that the hydride cab gave (on flat settings & with same bass also on flat settigns)
14. not sure if i can finish this i had a rolling start but now just hit a brick wall
15.
Here it is my remix. https://soundcloud.c...ronside1966-mix
nice its sick bass line & production sounds good
16. for me any steveie wonder song, there usually is at least one stevie song in standard function band sets and if i get on a gig with a real tight band i love it

20. i have decided to make a start on one haha i think my chosen style may not go down to well with the community here but I'm having fun at least! great song, there is a lot of options with this i think.
21. have a go at this one along to the song on you tube or something its quite a goodun
22. Phase Cancelation!!! - although possibly not the case if it sounds fine on one system and strange on another but its still worth checking for it! Im not an expert on the subject buy basically when you have instruments doubled up or sounds taking up in the same frequency range playing at exactly the same time they can cancel each other. for example bass guitar and bass drum can suffer from this problem if not eq'd properly or low end on keys or low bass'y synths.. ect thats the basic jist of it anyway
