4. wow how have i not heard that stevie song before - boogie on reggae woman love it, like a funky 12bb but with some real nice chords changes. I might have to make it part of my practising to transcribe a song from this list each day nice choice who ever it was =P
5. i will take the Sadowsky for £1050! i just want to play it/see it first PM please if its still available.
6. Ok good to hear thanks for your help guys, if continue to play with these guys I will most Likly invest in some kind of distortion pedal for abit of added grit . Just wanted to check I wasn't damaging my equipment! And yes it puts out plenty of db running it through barefaced super midget sounds buttery clean at loud volumes
7. Hi looking for some advice, I am playing a bunch of gigs this week with a touring band in a style I do normally play, rock. I require a small amount distortion on my sound but nothing over the top. The mark bass tube 800 is a hybrid amp with a tube blend able pre amp. I have been adding grit to my sound by selecting the mix knob all the way on tube and turning the gain up until I get some light to medium clipping whilst playing my hardest on the strings. It is creating a good sound for what I need but as it is not a full tube amp I am worried I shroud not be doing this and will damage the tube pre amp. Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
8. hey guys thanks for replies will deffo check out musicians union & look at singing up for PPL especially if i start doing more of this type of work. previously i have only done cash in hand gigs for functions bands and small time theatre, this is my first paid recording session so no idea what to expect. The meeting was moved to later on in the week so got a bit more time to look into it.
9. HI, I am doing some recording sessions for a producer in the coming weeks for some tracks he has been asked to compose for the BBC, he has asked me If I can write my own parts to what he currently has down. I am going for a meeting tomorrow with him and some others involved in the project, one of the things to be discussed tomorrow is payment. I have no idea what I should agree as a reasonable rate having not done this type of work before. Hourly? or just an agreed fee for the recordings I do per track for example? Also if i am composing a bass line rather than playing a previously written part should I expect to have some small percentage of royalties from it as I contributed too composing? please any help or advice welcome i don't want to be taken advantage off but at the same time want to reasonable lol!
10. thanks guys glad you liked it i think (hope) there should be some new stuff recorded over the next few weeks were thinking of actually starting band and gigging rather than just doing the odd recording for fun, we are lucky enough to have free access to a professional recording studio at the school we study at so it just comes down to our skills using it as to how good the recording is. Time is limited though we have to record this live as a band then do the vocal separately because we have had 4 hours to get it down then an extra hour session to do backing vocals then gave what we had to a production student to mix / master it it turned out better than we expected i think. My favourite part is the middle hip hop section the guitar solo is killer!
11. not sure what style to call this but it was fun some great musicians I'm lucky to play with! only part I'm not 100% with is the backing vocals as we were so rushed with time when recording them. we are all students at the Tech music schools in london and just came together for a few weeks to write and record & song. 12. if you have weight / size restrictions then the LM tubes are the way to go, although i think the TTE is still pretty light for the size, but thats because its not a full valve head right? I'm not to sure of the specs of it! I have a LM tube 800 and am so happy with its sound, I cannot compare to the TTE not heard one before, if your in london area PM me you can come and try it out sometime if you like!
13. i have a mag 410 T for sale in market place here if your interested in a second one still http://basschat.co.u...__fromsearch__1
14. Worst I have played through is probably a Johnson practice amp 1x10 the only sound it made was a distorted mid racket, sounded like it was capable of taking off. Next is a Peavy combo 1x15 cant remember the model of it, it was probably not to bad once upon a time but by the time i came across it was awful sounding thing and probably weighed 40-50KG
