1. From tomorrow's Sun. The sobbing woman was my wife. Seeing Rush for the first time since about 1980 proved too much for her Cheers Mark
2.
That's interesting. Where did you order that from?
Andertons in Guildford. They suggested it when I asked about extra-long Levys straps that they sell in America. They ordered the extension in but it arrived quickly. Cheers Mark
3.
Great show really enjoyed it
+1. Really great. I'd forgotten how much of that stuff is soaked into me. I particularly liked the spooky Witch Hunt. Cheers Mark
4. If it's a two-part thing, like a Levys with a loop-through system, you can order longer back bits to extend them. I recently ordered the back portion of a Levys suede strap to make mine longer for a T-bird. Cheers Mark
5.
Just scored free tickets from a guy at work that has managed to squeeze himself into a box!!
That's strange -- so have I Cheers Mark
6. THEY'RE the greatest band in Cumbernauld -- probably. (Your band name) are set to rock the (pub name) tonight (or day/date) from (start time) with a range of hard-hitting covers from Oasis to Kasabian. They've previously sent crowds wild in ... (a paragraph about your past gigs and any locally known previous bands you've been in). Frontman (your singer's name) said: "We really aim to give Cumbernauld pub-goers a great night out -- plus it's free to get in. So how can you lose? blah, blah, blah" And that's about it. Keep it short -- four or five paragraphs with some quotes. Supply a photo by email if you've got one. PM me what you've written if you want me to have a look through it before it goes. Cheers Mark
7. +1 for Hercules. Mine sits quite happily on one of those yellow and black jobs. Cheers Mark
8.
All west sussex bassists play for Willy Austin. There are no other bands.
He's omnipresent. I have yet to play in his band -- but I shared a bill with him at last year's Rudgwick Music Festival. Claim to fame *swoon* Cheers Mark
9. Welcome from the West Sussex crew Cheers Mark
10. I depped with a band supporting Eureka Machines in Kent last night. All went okay -- but I was p-ed off that our band's singer/guitarist screwed up their speedy version of The Real Me that I'd put in a fair bit of work to learn. But a good laugh, nonetheless. Cheers Mark
11. At the last gig, the singer launched into an a cappella -- unmentioned and unrehearsed -- version of Living On A Prayer as a first set closer. He's talented enough to get away with that kind of thing. The crowd soon took over the choruses -- and it was amazing. Sorry, I'm heading off the point ... Cheers Mark
12. It's unlikely to be of use, but my covers band opens with Hellion/Electric Eye by Judas Priest And straight in to Metal Gods See, told you. Cheers Mark
13.
Take a look at the Boschma cases. I don't own one but I know someone who does and it's a very sturdy bit of kit. http://flightcasewarehouse.co.uk/music/typ...sp?groupID=4677
I've got two Boschmas. They're great, very solid -- and I recommend Flightcase Warehouse too. Cheers Mark
14. A friend of mine is very interested in this -- he's in the process of joining the site to discuss it with you. Meanwhile, I'll PM you his email address. Cheers Mark
15. I bought some of these on your recommendation -- thanks, bobbass4k. I'm depping with a band who tune to D/drop C. I stuck some DDTs of my usual size on and they're great -- the bass didn't need tweaking and they feel just like standard strings with no flapping. I love 'em. Cheers Mark
16.
I put a couple of tunes that are de-tuned through Audacity first. So that when played back they are in standard tune. Saves hassle de tuning the bass or fiddling about with settings when practising.
Thanks -- I'll give that a go. Cheers Mark
17. I'd go with the Tascam trainer too -- though I have the guitar one for some reason. I use it pretty much every day. The only thing I'd prefer is a more sophisticated version that lets you set the pitch, speed and things like loops for individual songs. Cheers Mark
18. Hiya -- I spent a day in Felixstowe last weekend. There's a tiny music shop there in a shopping centre next to a Co-op -- so I had a quick look. Among the usual run-of-the-mill stock, they had a lovely white 1960s pre-CBS Precision. It wasn't priced so I asked about it. Apparently, its ownership is disputed -- the bloke who sold it to them is now in jail for unrelated offences. Shortly after they got it, a customer said he recognised the bass as one stolen from him 15 years ago. It was originally white, the bloke who stole it painted it red and it has now either been refinished or returned to its original white. It's a beauty -- and it's good to hear somebody may be getting their stolen bass back after 15 years. Anybody here who's local may want to keep an eye out in case it goes back on sale. Cheers Mark
19. A friend and I did a group deal to buy two G90s for £460 each. Two UK shops were willing to do it -- though the one we bought from asked me not to name them online. Could you go that route? Cheers Mark
20. He's charming when you get to know him Cheers Mark
21.
Actually could defo pick up tomorrow now. How shall we hook up?
Cool your boots, Mr Murderer. James has first dibs -- see above. Cheers Mark
22. If James doesn't want it, my mate will have it. He's in Brighton tomorrow and could pick it up. Cheers Mark

obbm's feedback

I just bought two cables for my wireless system. Dave replied to my first email in exactly three minutes, I gave him measurements Thursday morning and the order arrived at my door Friday morning. Super-fast, top-quality, bargain-price service as usual. We are very fortunate to have Dave among us. Cheers Mark
24. I reckon it's a joke -- there are too many spelling errors. And there's very little mention of that company online. It might be worth researching who really owns the rights to that song. Cheers Mark
25.
That should read lets move on I have made the point.
Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but is it worth getting a tech to confirm the "US voltage" amp can't work in both countries? It seems strange to me that the seller offered to let people try it at his house in the original ad. There might just be a possibility that you're both right. Cheers Mark
