Via Caty Link?
Kitty Link, surely Good luck with finding homes for them -- it sounds like you're living a nightmare out of some old cream advert. Having said that, I can't find the bloody thing. Anybody remember an Eighties or Nineties TV ad for imitation cream which showed hundreds of cats sitting outside a house? It was a parody of The Birds. Cheers Mark
2.
Have you considered therapy of any description?
I have -- but the recipe was lifted from the internet. I should have made that clear Cheers Mark
3. BEER ROASTED CAT 1 cat cut into roast 1 can of Campbell's Cream of Mushroom soup 1 cube of beef bouillon 1 clove of garlic 1 Fine Irish Stout Cover and soak cat roast in salt water for 24 hours. Drain water and then cover and soak in beer for 6 hours. Drain and place in crock pot with your cans of soup. Add a clove of garlic, and a cube of beef bouillon. If you start to slow cook your cat in the morning with your George Foreman Cooker (or it's ilk), you'll have finely cooked feline in time for supper. If a slow cooker is not available, a cat can be baked at 350 degrees for 2-3 hours in a conventional oven and still come out pretty good. Beer Roasted Cat is fantastic served with mashed potatoes, collard greens, and fresh, homemade egg rolls. When planning a full meal just remember -- cat is a course best served hot! Cat may not be the most glamorous, or tastiest of game meats, but with a little thought and preparation, Baked Cat can make the belly of the persnicketiest diner glow with home baked goodness. Cheers Mark
4. Alec bought my Ampeg SVT-410 HLF cab today. He paid cash on collection. The comms were good, everything went smoothly and he's a great bloke. Hope you enjoy it, mate -- you got a bargain for a quick sale. Cheers Mark
5. Just got back home with Tim's Bergantino NV610. The comms were good, we had a smooth transaction, he's a great bloke and his guitarist makes a mean cup of tea. Buy with confidence -- Tim's a top basschatter. Cheers Mark
6. Levy's do extra-long suede straps -- I've never been able to find them in this country but Andertons in Guildford can order longer back sections (the extendable bit) from the Levy's distributor to adapt your old one. They quoted me £8. Cheers Mark

Kate Rusby -- Let The Cold Wind Blow It's about a ghost watching his former girlfriend copping off with another bloke on his grave, or thereabouts. And ... Tori Amos -- Cooling Cheers Mark
8. They're a great band -- highly recommended, great songs. If only I was 20 and a good all-rounder Cheers Mark

10. Timmy, to you. Cheers Mark
11.
Do the gibson cases have Thunderbird written on them??
No they don't -- and take a look at the colour of his wall behind the sofa. I wouldn't even go in the house Cheers Mark
12. I was hoping to make it -- being local -- but I'm likely to be working too late. Good luck, though. Who's running it and what does the winner get? Cheers Mark
13. I heard an actor on Radio 4 a few months ago who said this: "All stage fright is vanity. The minute you don't care what the audience thinks, it disappears." It's an internal thing -- we worry about how the listener will judge us. We think people out there will laugh or despise us for playing worse than they can. Or we fear we'll cock up and look stupid. So the answer is to not give a sh*t what they think We were all beginners once, we all make mistakes sometimes and there will always be a better player than us and somebody less able. In the end, you're already a better bassist than 99 per cent of the population. There aren't many people around with the skills to judge you. Cheers Mark

YES

Mine was Madison Square Garden. We lived in New York for a couple of years when I was a teenager and friends of ours got free tickets because their dad worked for a bank, or something. It was in the round with a revolving stage that broke down halfway through the set. Roadies then had to push it The gig was great -- it's stuck in my head all these years. Cheers Mark

Yes were the first band I saw live, too. Tormato tour, about 1978. Cheers Mark
16.
Our drummer wants to trigger samples etc. Does any one have any good ideas. I know it will require a trigger pad and some sort of brain. I know its a drummer question but I've gone down the road of samplers and footpedals to no avail. Please help.
I had the same problem recently -- the only options I could find were a small sampler, like the Akai MPC-500 or Roland SP-404SX, linked to a drum trigger pad. Otherwise, get the keys man to trigger them, if you have one. That was what we went for after our keyboardist bought a fancy new, er, keyboard. Cheers Mark
17.
And if the end doubles as a bottle opener, that's a bonus! Clever guys at LeCompte
Just one guy -- Bud. And I think his headstocks have changed now. Cheers Mark
18. Could you hack it into something like this? Cheers Mark
19. They do a nice clanky sound too, if you like that kind of thing. Ric-esque. Cheers Mark
20. Slap or The Slap Band. Cheers Mark
21.
I'm desperately trying to find a certain product, i can't for the life of me work out what its's called to search it though. As far as i'm aware, its basically a freestanding amp cover, that is made out of the same material in most cases as the speaker cabinet cover material, and literally stands infront of the amp, but can usually be printed on with a custom design. If you know where I can get these, or what they're called, i'd really appreciate it. Cheers
You might PM Basschat member Bass Behemoth and ask him. His band has them, if I recall. Cheers Mark
22.
I don't see the problem, with paypal protection and a very specific description can you really go far wrong? If its not what they say it is, you send it back, you get refunded (by them or paypal through dispute)? Yes you'll be £50 down for postage, but i don't think its necessarily a complete no go...
Er, it's an American custom-made bass which retails for thousands of pounds. They're selling it for, what, £250? The text is obviously lifted from a shop's website, it talks about buying multiple items but the seller doesn't have anything else for sale. The terms and conditions even suggest he's selling clothes. The only paragraph written by the seller -- who has no previous history -- is in poor English while the rest is perfect. Wait, are you being sarcastic? Cheers Mark
23. This from the seller's terms and conditions on the same page: "We will be unable to accept returns if you remove the tags, wash, or wear them." So don't stick it in the washer, whatever you do Cheers Mark
