  1. Because this is a road worn Road Worn?
  2. "Retro 215" = Vintage? The Vintage was superseded by the Super 15.... The Vintage seems to be the only obsolete cab that doesn't get a full write-up any more...
  3. Just joined this club... although still waiting for my Elwood to arrive! Would have preferred a passive model, but this one was available at a very good price, so daft not to! It had a 2-band Glockenklang preamp, but I like a bit more control over my mids so I asked if it could be swapped for a 3-band. For an extra 50 euros, a 3-band Delano pre was installed (which will hopefully pair well with the Delano pickups)
  4. Your budget should easily cover a second-hand Barefaced Compact (generation 1 or 2). There have been quite a few for sale on here recently...
  5. That's gorgeous! What a bargain
  6. Now sold locally. Thanks for the interest
  7. Bloody hell! That's pretty loud then!
  8. A second-hand Barefaced 410? I've certainly seen at least on in the marketplace... Whether it would come in on budget or not though? Is it the cab that is limiting your volume or the amp itself? Is it only 100 watts?
  9. Me neither. I'm in the market for another J, but I'm not buying one without at least seeing pics of it!
  10. You've seen my band Blue? There are five of us though. But one is so boring that he is sometimes invisible.
  11. On hold for a day or two (while potential buyer sorts out finances...).
  12. I guessed as much. One day, one of these will come up that I can get my grubby paws on!! GLWTS
  13. I can't see the pics...
  14. I take it you have no interest in trades?
  15. Some trade interest, but still here for the moment...
  16. If this bass sounds and plays half as good as it looks, someone is going to get a real bargain! Very tempted myself if my T-bird sells!
  17. Some more photos, in which i have tried to show the (small) dints and marks... I took a lot of pics, but the marks were not keen to reveal themselves!
  18. Gorgeous bass - excellent price
  19. Comments welcome on pricing. I think this is a fair price looking at what these tend to go for... Also, just for clarity, I want to make it clear that I really like this bass! If I was more of a collector I'd be more than happy to keep it as it is a beautiful example of a classic , iconic bass. I just don't think I'll be using it much with my current band and would rather use it to fund a different instrument that I would actually use! There are no problems at all with the instrument itself... I have extensive, positive feedback, so you can buy with confidence. Trade offers welcome, although my preference would still be for a cash sale. However, I realise that cash is not always easy to come by in the run-up to Christmas!
  20. There have been a number of threads on this subject - for example From personal experience, I love EMGs and the "hot" pickup from GFS is great for the money - http://www.guitarfetish.com/GFS-Pro-Series-HOT-P-Bass-Pickup-Pickup-OUR-BEST-_p_10978.html
  21. http://www.emgpickups.com/bass/j-models/active/jset.html#info Hmmm... it seems I may have been incorrect in assuming that the pickups were passive...
  22. Good point! I've never yet found a P that I enjoy playing as much as a J. My search continues though...
  23. They both sound fine to me! The strings do make a massive difference to the tone though, so it's not really a fair test.
