  1. Genz Benz NX2-212T Bass Cab Purchased from a fellow Basschatter a few months ago. Served me really well in a short lived cover band. Rich lows and nice tone. For sale as I'm no longer gigging on bass. Rated at 600W @ 4ohms FEATURES Proprietary Neodymium Loudspeaker Our custom-designed 12" neodymium cast-frame loudspeaker is rated at 300 watts RMS and uses a 2 1/2" aluminum edge-wound high-temperature voice coil. The 7-oz. neodymium magnet assembly is encased in a large heat-sink structure for exceptional cooling. The paper cone, spider and dust cap are calibrated to deliver the low-frequency support and midrange articulation that today's bassists demand. Dual Edge Porting Integrated into the cabinet design is a special "dual-edge" porting system in which a shelf port at each corner of the baffle face forms an "X" across the radiating surface of the enclosure for increased low-frequency support and projection. INPUTS AND CONTROL All Genz Benz bass cabinets have 1/4" and Speakon® connectors for flexible connection options, and a variable tweeter level control for additional tone shaping. • Parallel Inputs - Either of the cabinet's two 1/4" full-range inputs can be used for input from the amp. The second input can then be used for daisy chaining two cabinets together. • Full Range Speakon® Input - This input and cable type are recommended when connecting to a high-powered bass amp rated at 400 watts or more. • Tweeter Level Control - Controls the amount of signal to the tweeter. Starting with the control set halfway is recommended; the tweeter output can then be balanced to the cabinet's speaker output in combination with the instrument's pickup tone and amplifier clarity. DESCRIPTION The most popular cabinet in its series, the NX2-212T is compact and lightweight, with a dual 12" design that drives with the heart of a 4x10" enclosure. The combination of two neodymium loudspeakers with "X" cabinet porting projects round, solid and explosive performance on any stage. Also, the vertical positioning of its dual 12" drivers enhances midrange projection-a design that helps cut through the mix. Lightweight design, "Edge-Lift" handles and tilt-back casters make traveling with this cabinet easy and convenient. 2. Purchased new (ex-display) from The Guitar Store in Southampton about 3 months ago as a backup amp. Has been used for a few rehearsals and 2 or 3 gigs and is in excellent condition. It's a great little amp and was able to drive my Genx Benz NX2-212T 4 Ohm (600W 2x12) cab with ease in a moderately loud covers band. I'm no longer gigging so it's really surplus to requirements and I'm trying to raise funds for some recording gear. Collection ideally from Southampton but I can ship if necessary. 300 Watts RMS at 4 Ohms 3-Band EQ section Enhance control Auto compression MP3 & Aux inputs Front Panel DI output Headphone output Powder coated steel chassis construction (not rack mountable) Power Handling: 300W @ 4Ω Amp Modes: Mono Freq. 3. Genz Benz Shuttle 6.2 bass head In excellent condition including mains cable, Speakon speaker cable and gig bag. It's a lovely solid sounding head with a great preamp. The fan is very quiet. Everything works perfectly. I purchased this a few months ago from Bass Direct to drive my GB NX2-212T cab (also for sale). I'm no longer gigging so decided to put it up for sale to help finance some recording gear. I'm based in Southampton, collection preferred but can ship also. 4. I discovered the other day that you can slow down youtube videos which is really handy when you're trying to transcribe or play along with a track your learning. Just click on the gear icon - Settings and adjust the speed, i find 0.75 is good.
  5. Sunday was my first time at the LBS. It was a very enjoyable and strangely relaxed day, despite the occasional bass amp cacophony but then what would you expect at a bass show?! Highlights for me were the Scott's Bass Lessons sessions, especially Scott's impromptu band - great musicians all of them. Bobby Vega's bass playing is unique and *very* funky and his stories entertaining. Peter Hook's session was also interesting, funny and grounded, with a bit of a kick up the pants to get on and make music with what you've got. It was also good to chat to some of the people on the stalls, just a very helpful friendly bunch of people. A real surprise was to have a go on the Safron 'Iris' acoustic bass. I've never played a fretless, let alone a double bass but found it amazingly easy to play pretty much in tune and hear a real double bass sound, at least to my ears. Brilliant! I will definitely go again, the seminars, masterclasses and performances made it much more than just an exhibition show. Thanks to all the contributors and organisers.
  6. It's starting to thaw down here in the South so I've bought my ticket for Sunday and really looking forward to it. I'm driving up in a van so was wondering what parking is like? (I can't get into a multi story car park). Cheers
  7. Hi Stef, I'll take you up on that kind offer if its still available. What time will you be getting there? Cheers, Aidan
  8. Thanks again for the helpful replies and for the entertaining banter lol. FWIW cost is an issue for many people. I do get the argument that spending on quality often saves money in the long run, also the argument that some more expensive single cabs are more effective than a pair of cheaper cabs that together add up to the same as the single. However, sometimes you just don't have the cash so you have to get creative about finding a solution. What I appreciate massively here at Basschat is the brilliant market place for second hand gear, also the amazing knowledge and responsiveness here in the forums. As for me, being quite a new bass convert, I'm thinking it's probably safer to try out gear second hand until I really get to know the sound I'm looking for. I am going to hopefully get along to LBS and have a listen to some of the lovely cabs I've heard so much about.
  9. I wish I'd written this bass line. I love it. In fact the whole album has great bass playing on it.
  10. Thank you for all your replies, it's really helpful to get people's hands on experience of gear.
  11. Can anyone tell me if there is a marked difference in sound quality between the new generation and the older Barefaced cabs? For example: older 15" Compact vs new 12" Super Compact or older cab with tweeter vs BB2. I'm trying to decide whether to go for a new one such as the BB2 or SC (for a lot of money for me) or pick up a s/h one for a more reasonable amount. What doesn't help is that I've tried out neither!! and I'm only going on what people say about how great they are. Thanks in advance...
  12. MarkBass 102P 2x10 Traveler Bass Cab including Roqsolid cover. Excellent cab, very light and portable with a nice punchy sound as many people will testify. The cab is 8ohms and made in Italy and comes with a perfect condition Roqsolid cover. I replaced the tweeter when I discovered it wasn't working after I bought it. I fitted a Monacor HT 30 replacement speaker after reading up that it's a sweeter sounding, less hissy tweeter and I agree that it's very nice and just adds a bit of airiness to the top end. I would prefer local collection from Southampton but can post this insured for £30. I normally use UPS via Interparcel and I've never had any mishaps over the years. Edit: I'm going to the London Bass Show on Sunday and could bring it with me.
